Kita may bag-o nga kabuhi -
kabuhi sa grasya nga hilway sa sala kag kabuhi nga wala sing katapusan. Bilang mga anak sang Dios, nangin manunubli
kita sang Ginharian sang Dios sa langit.
Apang paano bala naton makabuhi ining misteryo sang Pagkabanhaw sa matag-adlaw nga tanan? Ano bala ang
kaangtanan sini sa aton kabuhi?

ALELUYA! NABANHAW SIA!
WE HAVE A NEW LIFE!
Our celebration of Christs Resurrection reminds us of
the greatest gift that God has given us - NEW LIFE. This life is
eternal, a life in His grace freed from the slavery of sin and a
life as Gods beloved children.
We received this precious gift of new life through the
Sacrament of Baptism. Here we receive the Holy Spirit
making us Gods adopted children and heirs of eternal life.
As St. Paul writes, For you did not receive a spirit of slavery
to fall back into fear but you received a spirit of adoption,
through which we cry, Abba, Father! (Rom 8, 15)
The perennial challenge to which me must always
respond is to live our identity as Gods beloved children so
that we may become witnesses of His loving presence. Not
content with just being a Christian in name, we strive to live
our identity as Christians through our acts of charity borne
from our personal and intimate encounter and relationship
with the Risen Christ
Let us remember what Pope Francis said, Christianity
is not simply a matter of following the commandments; it is
about living a new life, being in Christ, thinking and acting
like Christ, and being transformed by the love of Christ, it
is allowing Him to take possession of our lives and change
them, transform them, to free them from the darkness of evil
and sin.
It is our fervent prayer that our Magagmay nga
Kristianong Katilingban (MKK) to which we are called to
actively participate, may become a good venue where we can
authentically witness the Christian values of love, generosity
and service, through which we bring hope to our barangays
especially to the families therein - the hope that with and in
Christ, all will be transformed and renewed.
May Mary, who stood at the foot of the Cross, teach and
accompany us to be genuine followers of Christ.
Happy Easter to one and all!
Aleluya!
man nga lugar, pero amo man gihapon nga tinaga nga Hebreo.
Ini nga tinaga nagakahulogan: Praise God! Dayawon ang
Dios!
nga pagka-walay paglaum sang Krus, kundi nga nagalambot
sa masanag nga katumanan sang Pagkabanhaw. Ang
Pagkabanhaw nagaagda sa aton sa paghakos sang kaluoy
kag kaayo sang Nabanhaw nga Ginuo, sang pagkabukas sang
Gani, makaamba kita sing malipayon: Aleluya! Nabanhaw Sia!
Happy Easter sa inyo tanan! Kabay pa nga ang Paghidait
kag Paglaum nga dala sang Pagkabanhaw ni Kristo mangin
inyo kag sang inyo panimalay!
Magkalipay Kita kay
Nabanhaw si Kristo! Alleliua!
babaye nga gintutun-an nagatalupangod sang mas madalum
nga kalinong kag paghidait sang ginsugata sila sang anghel
Kristo kag ginsingganan: Indi kamo magkahadlok.
gintutun-an Niya nga indi magkahadlok nagdala sa ila nga
mangin malipayon kag may paghidait.
man ukon pangkatilingban, nagadala sang paghidait sa
aton mga tagipusoon. Matuod nga realidad ang pagtilaw,
pagbinahinbahin, kahakug, pagluib, pagkadula sang
tagipusuon nga ini tanan may katapusan kag kalubaran.
There will always be Good Fridays in our lives, but it is not the
end. we are not afraid of these Good Fridays, because the
Risen Christ peacefully assures us of Easter Sunday!
dapat man magpaambit sang paghidait sa aton katilingban.
Katulad sang nabanhaw nga Kristo kita dapat mangin
instrumento sang paghidait sa tanan. Kita mangin palaagyan
sang paghidait katulad sang pangamuyo ni San Francisco
sang Assisi nga nagasiling:
Ginoo, himua ako nga palaagyan sang imo paghidait;
Kon diin may kaakig,
tuguti ako nga magtanum sang paghigugma;
Kon diin may kaugut, tuguti ako nga magpatawad;
Kon diin may pangduhaduha,
tuguti ako nga magtuo sa Dios;
Kon diin may kabudlayan ,
tuguti ako nga maglaum;
Kon diin may kadulum,
tuguti ako nga mangin kasanag;
Kon diin may kasubo,
tuguti ako nga mangin kalipay;
O Diosnon nga Amay,
tuguti ako nga indi magpaabut nga pagalugpayan kundi nga
ako ang maglugpay sa iban;
Indi magpaabot nga intiendihon,
kundi ako ang una nga mag intiendi;
Indi magpaabot nga higugmaon,
kundi ako ang mauna nga maghigugma;
Kay yara sa paghatag nga nagabaton kita;
yara sa pagpatawad nga ginapatawad kita;
kag yara sa kamatayon nga ginabun-ag kita sa kabuhi nga
wala sang katapusan. Amen
Kabay pa nga mangin manugbantala kita sang
nabanhaw nga Kristo paagi sa aton pagtinguha nga mangin
intrumento sang paghidait!
Malipayon nga pagsaulog sang Pagkabanhaw ni Kristo
sa tanan! Ang paghidait sang nabanhaw nga Kristo kabay pa
mangin yara sa aton tanan!

the Holy Week.
The question is: how did
we celebrate the Holy Week?
We the young people
here in our parish celebrated
this Holy Week meaningfully
and spiritually healthy.
Last Monday, April

Light of Peace held at
Savannah, Oton. This
event aimed to promote
world peace through
inner peace. Members of
JPYM participated in the
lighting of candles and some
helped as volunteers. One of
the reasons for joining is to
remember that Jesus is the

have peace in the world if we have
light in our hearts, and that Light of
the World is no other than Jesus.
On Holy Tuesday, we, together
with our families gathered as one,
to have a Lenten Recollection, held
at the Cathedral.
Some of us also joined the
Parish Recollection held last
Wednesday. On Maunday Thursday
we had Visita Iglesia. We went to
seven churches within the city
and adored the Holy Eucharist
through a short prayer.
On Good Friday, we
facilitated the prayer of the
Way of the Cross and had a
film showing on the Passion
of Christ on the next day, Black
Saturday.
Human as we are, we are
prone to commit mistakes and
sin, but wearealsoabletorealize
the true meaning and essence
of the Holy Week in our life.
Swimming, bonding and other
happy events are always there,
so why dont we have a bonding
with the Lord? A week with
Him? Praying as one family
with Him? Individually
make sacrifice, penance
and repentance.
Holy Week is not
about vacation and
satisfaction. It is about the
memorial of the Passion,
DeathandResurrectionof our
Lord Jesus.
Let us examine ourselves
and ask this question with a
sincere answer: How did you
spend your Holy Week?
Katulad ni Jesus,
magtinguha kita nga lutuson
ang kadulom sa aton palibot
nga bunga sang aton mga sala.
Suguran naton ini sa aton
kaugalingon paagi sa paghatag
sang panahon sa Mahal nga
Dios sa pagpangamuyo kag
pag-alagad sa Iya, ilabi na gid
sa adlaw sang Domingo. Sa
aton tawohanon nga kaluyahon
kag kailigbon, tun-an naton
nga disiplinahon ang aton
kaugalingon agud kita man
makahimo sang mga butang nga
makapamaayo kag makabulig
sa aton isigkatawo. Ano gid
abi ang makuha naton sa sige
lantaw sang TV, sa sobra nga
pag-inom sang makahulubog
nga ilimnon kag sa wala untat
nga pagpanigarilyo? Ano abi
nga kaayuhan ang madala
sang malawig nga pagtulog
kag pagpahuway, sang pag-
istambay, sang paghampang
sa computer kag pag-internet
nga wala man sing klaro nga
tinutuyo kundi mag-facebook man
lang ukon mag-online games? Ti,
ang aton lang kaugalingon ang
ginapahalipay naton. Kuntani
disiplinahon man naton ang aton
kauglingon agud makahimo man
sang maayo para sa kaayohan sang
tanan, indi kay kaugalingon lang
ang ginaintiende.
Ang kabuhi sang mga tumuluo
nga nagapakigbahin sa Magagmay
nga Kristianong Katilingban isa ka
matahom nga huwaran para sa aton
tanan. Sila nagatinguha nga mangin
buhi nga saksi sang Pagkabanhaw
ni Kristo.
Nagapangamuyo sila sang
Santo Rosaryo adlaw-adlaw.
Nagatambong sila sang Bible/Faith
Sharing kada semana ukon duha ka
beses sa isa ka bulan. Ilabi sa tanan,
nasentro sa Eukaristiya ang ila
kabuhi kay sa tagsa ka adlaw sang
Domingo, nagasimba sila.
Kon may kahiwatan sa barangay
ukon sa Simbahan, nagabuligay ang
tanan gani nagamag-an ang mabug-
at nga mga obligasyon.
Sationsangkalisudbangudsang
pagtaliwan sang hinigugma
sa kabuhi, ang mga katapo
sang MKK nagapakig-unong
kag nagabuylog sa pamilya
paagi sa pagtambong sa Misa
sa haya ukon paghatag sang
bulig financial.
Subong man, nagabisita
man sila sa mga masakiton
kag nagabulig patigayon
sang ila mga kinahanglanon
katulad sang pagpabadlis kag
pagpakompesar.
Madamo pa gid sang mga
ginabuhat ang mga katapo sang
aton MKK. Aton ginalauman

pagpanaksi sang Ebanghelyo,
ang presensiya ni Kristo nga
nabanhaw mabatyagan kag
maeksperyensiyan sang mga
tumuluo ilabi na gid sang ila
mga kasilingan.
Sundon naton ang maayo
nga ehemplo sang aton MKK.
Magtinguha kita tanan nga
mangin saksi sang Pagkabanhaw

Health Law (RA 10354) seem to bamboozle the
understanding of health and reproductive
health. Obviously, the use of contraceptive pills,
which have been easily obtainable in Philippine
market for some time now (and, of course, even
in government clinics and hospitals) does not fit
the WHOs definition of health which is a state of
complete physical, mental and social well-being
and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Stewards of Health
One does not have to be a doctor to know
that contraceptive pillseven granting
that there are no side effects, but in fact
there arework to suppress something
in the body from performing its normal
function and, therefore, contrary to well-
being or health.
It is rather odd why RA
10354 is called a national policy
on Responsible Parenthood and
Reproductive Health when, in fact, it
neither promotes the responsibility
of parenting nor of real health.
The bishops exhort Catholics to take
care of their body since it is a spiritual
duty to do so as good stewards of
health. And that includes the campaign
against the Reproductive Health Law
that misunderstands it.

A
pril 14, 2014. Thunderingapplause welcomed
Pope Francis inside the Vaticans Clementine
Hall. He met with bishops, priests and
seminarians fromthe Pontifical Leonian College,
the seminary for the Lazio region.
We are here to gather courage like the Apostles,
and assure you our total and unconditional loyalty.
During his remarks he talked about the four
pillars needed within the formation of priests:
prayer, study, fraternity and apostolic life.
A strong spiritual life; a serious intellectual
life: community life, and, lastly, an apostolic life, in
no particular order. All four are important. If one is
missing, the formation is no good.
Pope Francis went onto talkabout the meaning
of becoming a priest, a good shepherd. Citing
the Apostles, he talked about courage in preaching,
mercy through the Sacraments, and constant prayer.
The one thing a priest should not be, the Pope
said, is a career bureaucrat.
We have so, so many priests who are stuck on
this path. It pains me that they are not fulfilled as

Youth Day, will became its patron saint. In the
communion of saints, he will continue to be a father
and friend for the worlds youth.
The Pope also referenced another event with
young people, just a fewmonths away. He will travel to
South Korea for Asian Youth Day.
In this context, I am happy to announce that,
God willing, this upcoming August 15, in Deajeon,
South Korea, I will meet with youth from Asia, in their
great continental gathering.
With the Angelus, Pope Francis closed off Palm
Sunday Mass, kicking off the celebrations for Holy
Week, one of the busiest periods for the Pope.
priests. They behave like officials, like
bureaucrats, and that is not good for the
Church. I urge you, be careful not to fall on
this path.
The Pope added that there is no
roomformediocrity in the discipleship
of Jesus Christ, and that if a person is
not up to the task of becoming a man
of prayer and the voice of Christ, they
should consider finding another path.
He closed by giving seminarians another
piece of advice.
Russian mystics said that in moments
of spiritual turbulence, one needs to take
refuge under the mantle of the Holy Mother
of God. Never leave it! Cover yourself with
Her mantle.
Near the end, he also thanked the
seminarians that came to the Vatican on
foot from the seminary, located less than
40 miles south of Rome.

Life Over Death
Julieta G. Aquilo
W
e may have many things to do
upon waking up in the morning,
but we must remember that Jesus
needs our first attention He Who saves us
He Who loves us He Who helps us when
we call on Him.
We are aware that He shed His blood
broke His flesh and bones on the summit
of Calvary bore the pain and the heat
because of His love and concern for us.
Let us therefore do something in
return. Upon waking up in the morning,
let us praise Him not only with our lips,
but with our heart, let us praise Him as we
close our eyes and imagine the Blood and
Water pouring from His Sacred Heart
cleansing us spiritually and morally.
As we go about our daily duty, let us
sing to Him not in a loud voice, but in the
manner which He alone can hear.
It is not difficult to examine our
conscience daily and see our weaknesses.
We do not need to ponder for hours, but
we can review our life as we go about our
duties. Let us try to see where we have gone
wrong and do something to make amends.
individual soul will be reunited with the
selfsame body with which it was united
on earth. While all the dead will rise, only
the just will have their bodies glorified
(POCKET Catholic Dictionary, P.368).
These glorified bodies will be free from
every kind of physical evil like sickness,
hunger and death (impassibility), will
be able to pass through material objects
(subtlety), will be totally submissive
to the spirit like moving as quick as an
eyesight (agility) and will be as radiant
as the sun (brightness).
The just, who will possess
these characteristics of the
glorified bodies are those who die
in the state of grace.
In this regard, when we think
of Jesus Resurrection, we must
also at the same time think of our
bodily resurrection which Christ
Himself asked of the Father that
the whole of humankind be given
the chance to go back to Him ,and
live an eternal life of happiness
with Him, the only reason of His
Passion , Death and Resurrection.
This is our Christian hope because
if the body of Jesus had remained
in the tomb, Christian faith would
be meaningless (I Cor. 15:14).
Moreover, Christs
Resurrection is the triumph of
truth over falsehood, of good over
evil, of light over darkness but the
greatest triumph is, THE TRIUMPH
OF LIFE OVER DEATH!
We can never tell when our life would end.
Let us therefore apply the motto of the Boy
Scouts: Be prepared.
Have we tried surrendering to the
Lord our deficiencies and ask Him to help
us regain our courage and faith? We may be
weak but we can be spiritually strong if we
humble ourselves and ask for courage and
strength from the Lord.
We have a strong ally in the Holy Spirit.
Let us have a devotion to Him. He never
fails. He is always there listening to us.
Then, of course, we have to repent if we
have failed God in some ways if we have
hurt others through words and actions. It
must be a sincere recognition of our faults
and weaknesses.
If somebody has hurt us, we must
forgive, because we, too, have many things
to be forgiven for we are not perfect.
It is advisable to read the Bible or
anything religious and have some moments
of reflection. It is a time well-invested.
Let us have some silent times, and
listen to the Lord. He speaks to us if we
know how to listen.
If we feel that we lack the strength and
the courage to speak to God, let us ask the
intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
or any of the Heavenly hosts, for faith and
perseverance.
As soon as we see ourselves as we are,
let us offer our weaknesses to the Lord
and make our petitions to strengthen our
relationship with Him.
My dear brothers and sisters, we
must not forget to thank the Lord, to end
our prayers with words of thanksgiving
for giving us His time, His graces, His
generosity.
We become weak if we do not eat our
food daily. We become weak if we do not
exercise daily but the worst that will
make us weak is walking on a path without
holding the hands of the Lord and listening
to His voice.
Let us wake up to the dawn of stronger
faith and courage to the dawn of a prayer
first with God to the dawn of a more
sanctified tomorrow an eternity with the
Heavenly Father.

Return the Love Jesus Gives
Pureza D. Lacuesta
Y
es! Jesus is alive! He is Risen! Today
is the time for us to rejoice and hope.
Victory and joy are what we should
feel. Why? Jesus suffered and died, but now,
He is risen!
The resurrection of Christ is His
rising from the dead by His own power
on the third day after His death. Christs
Resurrection is a basic truth of Christianity,
which is expressed in all the Creeds and in
all the Rules of Faith.
The meaning and the salvific
importance of Christs Resurrection can be
described briefly in five points
(CFC #s 621-625).
First, His Resurrection
confirmed everything
Christ had done and taught.
His triple prediction of
his Passion, Death and
Resurrection (Mk.8:31; 9:31;
10:34). His triple prediction
of being lifted up (Jn.3:14;
8:28; 12:32). His exaltation
vindicated all he claimed to be
(Mk. 14:61f.).
Second, His resurrection
fulfilled the Old Testament
prophecies promising a Savior
for all the world (Dn. 7:14).
Third, the Resurrection
confirmed Jesus Divinity.
Upon seeing the risen Jesus,
Thomas cried out, My Lord
and my God (Jn.20:28).
Fourth, Christs death
freed us from sin, and His
Resurrection brought us a share in the new
life of adopted sons and daughters of the
Father in the Holy Spirit (Rom.6:6).
Fifth, the Risen Christ is the principle
and source of our future resurrection. He
will change our lowly body to conform with
His glorified body (Phil.3:21) In Christ
all will come to life again (I Cor. 15:22).
Thus, we have to accept the truth that
there is what we call a bodily resurrection
which is the universal return to life of all
human beings, to occur soon before the last
judgment by Gods almighty power. Each
Tips for
Growth
NINE WAYS TO
LIVE THE RESURRECTION
Carry the joy of the resurrection with you
throughout the year.
1. Go Ahead and Touch Him
Why are you troubled? Jesus says to the
disciples in Lukes gospel when he appears
to them after his resurrection. Why do
questions arise in your hearts? Touch me and
see, because a ghost does not have flesh and
bones as you can see I have.
2. Knowthat God is Good
In the days before his death, Jesus repeats
that he was sent on behalf of his Father. In
fact, the wording in many of his miracles,
especially the raising of Lazarus, points back
to the goodness of the Creator: For the Father
loves the Son and shows him everything that
he himself does, and he will showhimgreater
works than these, so that you may be amazed
(John 5:20).
3. Turn It Over to Him
The third step of most 12-step recovery
programs is to turn our will and our lives
over to the care of God. The first three
steps, which are the most important, can be
summed up this way: I cant (first step), He
can (second step), and I think Ill let Him
(third step).
4. Cast out Fear
In Matthews resurrection narrative, an
angel of the Lord appears to Mary Magdalene
and the other Mary at the empty tomb and
says to them, Be not be afraid; for I know
that you are looking for Jesus who has been
crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just
as He said. Later Jesus met the women and
repeated, Do not be afraid.
5. Go Public
Another repetition in all the resurrection
accounts is Jesus commandment to go tell
it on the mountain. Even if you risk looking
like a fool, tell people that the resurrection
really happened. Not that we have to become
annoying televangelists. But in everything we
do and say, our words and deeds should always
come back to the resurrection, spreading the
hope of that story to everyone we meet.
6. Stay Humble
One important truth of the resurrection:
God became man; man didnt become God.
7. Walk the Road to Emmaus
We have an opportunity to walk the Road
of Emmaus every day if we agree with Saint
Leo the Great, who said, To share Christs
resurrection means not to be shackled by
temporal things but to set our hearts on the
eternal life he is offering us here and now....
Our resurrection has already begun in Christ,
and he longs to lead us into the fullness of life
and healing.
8. Pray Always and Everywhere
Luke 24:32 says. They asked each other,
Were not our hearts burning within us while
he talked with us on the road and opened the
Scriptures to us?
The entire walk to Emmaus became a
prayer inthe same way that our commonplace,
trivial tasks can become prayers. St. Therese
of Lisieux defined prayer as an outburst from
the heart; it is a simple glance darted upwards
to Heaven; it is a cry of gratitude and of love in
the midst of trial as in the midst of joy. Thats
howwe pray when we live the resurrection.
9. Recognize God in All Things
If Lent is about becoming quiet in order
to hear God, Easter is about singing Alleluia
with Him. And if the 40 days beginning with
Ash Wednesday are about detaching ourselves
from certain people, places, and things, in
order to know ourselves more truly and love
ourselves more fully, then Easter is about
celebrating all the people, places, and things
in our lives that promote goodness, beauty,
and love.
We can find God in everything, wrote
Pope John Paul II, we can commune with Him
in and through all things. He is alive, and he is
everywhere.
