Miss Callaghans High School Technology Use Agreement

Rationale:
The use of technology can create opportunities for how we can learn in our classroom. It
creates options for how I can teach and how our classroom can look and operate. It is
important that technology tools are used to aid and supplement learning and not distract it.
This policy has been created to set guidelines and rules to help keep our classroom
functional and safe in regards to technology use. By reading and signing this agreement you
agree to follow this policy and corresponding consequences.
As a student, I agree:
o The cell phones/electronic devices can be used before the morning bell rings, snack,
lunch and after school unless otherwise specified by the teacher
o To turn my cell phone ringer off during class time
o To not use cell phones or other personal devices for personal use during class time

o To Respect and Protect Myself
o Not to reveal personal information, such as name, address or telephone
number, without written permission from parent or guardian
o To follow the rules of copyright laws
o Not to participate in any actions, which may be considered inappropriate or
dangerous
o To immediately notify the teacher should I access something questionable
o Not pretend to be anyone else online.
o Not send email, create an account, or post any words, pictures, or sounds
using someone elses name.

o To Respect and Protect Others
o Not to use obscene, sexually explicit, malicious or threatening language or
materials
o Not to write anything mean or hurtful to another person.
o Not to be a bully or make fun of anyone.
o Not to bother any person online or by text message.

o To Respect and Protect Property
o Not to break or destroy any computer equipment on purpose.
o Not to move any equipment, including keyboards and mice, without
permission.
o Not to plagiarize.

I have read the guidelines for acceptable use, understand and agree to follow them
and use technology in a responsible way to further my education. Should I violate the
rules I understand the corresponding consequences.
