I ha?e the D-.ink DI-!" wireless router at home and it has worked wonderfully for me. I used to use
G:3 filters to )lock intruders from my network. 2ecently7 I got tired of keeping the G:3 list and
decided to switch to using encryption. :fter doing a Ouick comparison7 I decided to go with >*:-*<1.
$his is when I ran into an interesting road)lock.
>hen I chose >*:-*<17 pro?ided the passphrase7 and clicked on the :pply )utton nothing would
happen. 3learly7 the form wasnHt )eing su)mitted. <o did a ;iew <ource on the page and tracked down
what was happening. Ior >*:-*<17 it was calling a Pa?ascript function to do a check on the key

function that didnHt existD <o there it was7 a pre-check that would ne?er succeed and the form wonHt
su)mit. <o what do you do? :ctually7 the resolution is not that difficult.
<a?e the page locally as an B$G. page. @dit the page to do the following:

Gy routerHs I* is '5!.'&(.6.'7 so I prefixed http://'5!.'&(.6.'/ to the formHs action attri)ute and to the

critical. Tou Fust need to remem)er the position of the :pply )utton so that you can click on it.Uscript

<a?e the changes.
$hatHs pretty much it. .oad the B$G. file in a )rowser. $he Pa?ascript would interact with the router to
show the current settings. Tou can now select >*:-*<17 supply the passphrase7 and click on :pply. $his
pro)lem may apply to the other encryption settings as well7 )ut the fix remains the same.
If you use Iirefox7 you can use the Iire)ug add-on to edit the page in the )rowser and make the change
4only <tep ' needed8. Tou donHt need to sa?e the file7 edit7 and run in three steps.
9y the way7 I also did a firmware upgrade to see if they ha?e fixed it in a newer ?ersion )ut the pro)lem
exists in ?ersion '.!% as well.
