Protected
lid against
vandalism for
Dorot Water Meters
For several years, Dorot Control
Valves (DOROT) is successfully
marketing Dorot Waternet. This
is an innovative system of water
meters integrated with telecom and
management software for remote
reading of water meters.
The system relies on some of the
most advanced technologies and is
able to guarantee reception of 99.9%
of all water meters at any given time.
The advantage of the Waternet
system is that it allows broadcasting
a variety of data and alerts from the
water meter directly to the control
center. Locating water leakage,
identifying irregular consumption,
early notifcation of stopped water
meters, sabotage and attempted
water theft.
Following the needs of Dorots water
meters consumers; Dorot developed
a protected lid made of polycarbonate
to protect the water meter against
vandalism or deformation and to
prevent damage to the glass that
protects the internal electronics. The
protected lid has an Indicator that
notifes when there was an attempt to
sabotage or remove the protective lid.
The product is primarily intended
for implementation by municipal
water corporations that install tens
of thousands of water meters in each
project.
Dorot protective lid ensures an
effcient and reliable solution to the
problem of water meters sabotage.
This solution has been implemented
with impressive success and
proves itself in international projects
undertaken by Dorots subsidiaries
and partners worldwide.
Note that the protected lid is designed
for Dorots Multi-Jet water meters
only with diameters of 1/2 to 1.

Lawmakers push
EPA for more time
on water rule
Industry groups and more than a
dozen GOP senators are urging the
Obama administration to reconsider
plans to regulate many of the nations
streams and wetlands, saying the
proposed rule hurts economic activity
and oversteps legal bounds. In a
letter Thursday, the senators faulted
the Environmental Protection Agency
for announcing a proposed rule last
week before the governments peer-
reviewed scientifc assessment was
fully complete. They are calling on the
government to withdraw the rule or
give the public six months to review
it, rather than the three months
being provided. The senators move
puts them among several groups -
from farmers and land developers
to Western governors worried about
drought management - in expressing
concern about a long-running and
heavily litigated environmental issue
involving the Clean Water Act that
has invoked economic interests,
states rights and presidential power.

favorable feed-in tariffs will maintain
Europe in a leading position, driven
especially by Germany. Meanwhile, in
the U.S., there is plenty of untapped
potential, with 80% of biogas-
producing wastewater treatment
plants faring the biogas instead of
putting it to use.

GE Named 2014
Water Company
of the Year
Recognized for its outstanding
commitment and contributions to the
water industry, GE(NYSE: GE) was

Intelligences Global Water Summit
2014. According to the awards
program, GE Water has transformed
itself into the most formidable
industrial water company in the
world, positioned at the center of the
water-energy nexus. GE Water
has consistently placed itself at the
cutting edge of innovation right across
its portfolio. No one else proved so
adept at turning challenges of the

for corporate water users, utilities and
the environment.
New ISO
Standards at
Dorot Control
Valves
As one of the leading technological
companies in the market, Dorot
Control Valves (Dorot) has adopted
two of the leading environmental and
safety standards. After two years
of preparations, Dorot successfully
passed the certifcation audit, which
certifes the company for both
standards:
Standard ISO 14001 - Environment
This standard provides tools for
environmental management and
deals with the daily management of
the areas in which the organizations
activities impact on the environment.
To meet the standards requirements,
Dorot developed and implemented
procedures that help manage the
environmental quality at the factory.
Dorot collected data about there
consumption in different areas over
several years; they also collected
and analyzed data on there recycling
of plastics, metals, cardboard, paper
and more. All these will help Dorot to
set goals for continuous improvement
by reducing consumption on the one
hand and increasing recycling on the
other.
Standard OHSAS 18001 -
Occupational Health and Safety
Dorot believe that in a risk-intensive
business environment, positioning
safety and health management as
an integral part of the organizations
strategy gives it a qualitative and
business advantage.
Using a safety management system,
Dorot can identify and manage the
risks inherent in ongoing activities,
focus on our employees wellbeing,
and strengthen the trust in the
organization. Managing health and
safety in the workplace greatly
improves control of risk factors,
including through compliance with
regulatory requirements in workplace
health and safety.
In order to meet the standards
requirements, existing procedures
were demonstrated and additional
procedures were introduced to help
Dorot in managing safety in the
organization.
Dorot Control Valves sees great
importance in adopting these new
standards, in addition to the quality
standards that have been a part of
the organization for many years.
Our company will continue to act and
strive to improve not only the quality
of its products and services, but also
improve employee safety, productivity
and the environment.

by 13.5% over 2012 from 34,608
Megawatts (MW) to 39,297 MW.
China remained market leader in
2013, 14,967 MW of hydropower
projects were installed in China,
which accounted for 38.1% of global
hydropower capacity additions.
Hydropower installations in 2014
expected to decline by 6.4% from
2013. Government support, feed-in
tariffs, de-centralized generation and
nuclear phase-out remained market
drivers for hydropower whereas
drought, a long gestation period,

between water-sharing states/
countries remained key challenges.
