About this release
This document contains important information about the current release. We strongly recommend that
you read the entire document.
McAfee

Enterprise Mobility Management (McAfee EMM

) English-language user documentation is

provided at the time of release. For documentation in other languages, check the McAfee Downloads
site 34 weeks after product release.
New features
This release of the product includes these new features.
PKI certificate distribution and management
In Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments, iOS policies secure VPN or Wi-Fi connections with
certificate-based authentication.
iOS 7 enhancements
iOS policies provide secure management of new iOS 7 features.
The Single sign-on policy setting enables network credentials in order to log on to apps and
websites.
App Lock limits a supervised iOS 6 or later device to a single app, disabling the home button and
returning the device to the specified app on wake or restart.
Managed open-in restrictions separate corporate and personal data by allowing administrators to
choose which apps can be used to open attachments in corporate email.
1
Touch ID restrictions provide administrative control of fingerprint-sensing technology for enabled
devices.
Lock screen messages display an optional message, with or without a contact phone number,
when devices are locked by an administrator.
Managed anti-malware
Administrators can deploy and enforce use of the McAfee

VirusScan Mobile Security (McAfee VMS)

app to secure Android devices against malware threats. McAfee VMS is included with your McAfee EMM
subscription.
App Protection
Administrators can enforce compliance for Android devices based on trust ratings from McAfee

Global
Threat Intelligence

(McAfee GTI). Some factors that are used to determine trust ratings include the
risk of malware, unauthorized URL access, and developer reputation.
Whitelist and blacklist
Whitelist and blacklist policies secure iOS and Android devices by permitting or restricting specified
apps. These lists can be used to override or augment other app-based restrictions, like App Protection
for Android.
Threat events
Mobile security threats are reported as McAfee

ePolicy Orchestrator

(McAfee ePO

) threat events,
enabling automated reporting and actions. Threat events are available for jailbroken or rooted devices,
blacklisted apps, malware threats (according to McAfee VMS), and malicious or suspicious apps
(according to McAfee GTI).
Enhancements
This release of the product includes these enhancements.
Noncompliant reasons
Administrators can view the reason a device is out of compliance in Mobile Properties | Device Details.
End user notifications
Users receive push notifications or other alerts describing why their device is out of compliance.
Notifications tell users how to resolve the problem so they can resume corporate data sync.
Package assignment
Group-based package assignment provides performance improvements for globally distributed apps
and files.
If you assigned packages to individual users in previous versions of McAfee EMM, manually assign them
to groups before upgrading.
