AT&T Announces $2,700 Innovation Award
to Support Shalom Centers Family Shelter

Contribution Honors Memory & Legacy of Greta Hansen,
One of the Founders of the Shalom Center

KENOSHA, Thursday, June 12, 2014 AT&T announced today a $2,700 donation to the Shalom Center to
support its Emergency Family Shelter for homeless families in Kenosha County. The donation honors the
memory and legacy of Greta Hansen, one of the founders of the Shalom Center who recently passed away.

Our mission is to help those less fortunate in our community by not only meeting their immediate needs, but
also providing them with services to help move them toward self-sufficiency, said Fran Hansen, Executive
Director of the Shalom Center. Greta Hansen knew it takes a whole community working together, from
volunteers to businesses, to make a difference for homeless families in Kenosha County. This contribution from
AT&T will help us continue to provide these vital programs for those in need.

The $2,700 AT&T Innovation & Investment Award will support the Shalom Centers family shelter program,
which offers a safe, secure, stable and supportive environment for Kenosha County families who are
experiencing homelessness. The shelter provides a temporary residence and full array of services to assist
families in returning to a permanent living situation.

Families in the shelter receive daily support, along with classes and trainings in job searches, budgeting and
nutrition. They also receive individual case management to develop and implement a plan of action to move
toward a long-term goal of self-sufficiency. The shelter can accommodate 7 families (up to 28 individuals) for up
to 45 days.

Established in 1982 by volunteer Greta Hansen, the Shalom Center is a non-profit social service organization
that provides a safe and supportive environment to families in need in Kenosha County. Its mission is to
collaboratively serve the community by providing emergency food, shelter, housing and support in ways that
meet immediate needs and respect human dignity.

Hansen passed away on May 24 after a three year battle with colon cancer.

Greta Hansen saw people in our community whose needs werent being met, and she mobilized volunteers and
resources to feed the hungry and establish the Shalom Center, said State Senator Bob Wirch (D-Somers), a
longtime supporter of the Shalom Center. She was an incredibly inspirational leader whose passion for helping
the homeless goes unmatched. I know she would be pleased to see companies like AT&T stepping up to help
the Shalom Center in its mission to serve those in need.

The AT&T Wisconsin Pioneers, the companys volunteer organization, has also long been a supporter of the
Shalom Center, collecting food, clothing, money and supplies for the organizations for many years. Pioneer
volunteers also serve meals at the Shalom Center.

AT&T is very proud to honor the memory and legacy of Greta Hansen through this donation and our continued
support of the Shalom Center, said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. The Shalom
Center is making a real difference in the lives of the homeless in Kenosha County.

The AT&T Wisconsin Innovation & Investment Award program provides funding to organizations and programs
that improve the community by: advancing education, enhancing the environment, promoting economic
development, or delivering other community services.
