Community and Service

This area of interaction allows you to consider how you engage with your immediate family, classmates and friends in
the outside world as a member of these communities. Through different activities, you can learn about your place
within these communities and be motivated to act in a new context.

Your reflection on Community and service

Create an overview of your commitment to community service so far this year. Include a description of
the activities in which you are involved. Explain how these experiences have affected you and impacted
others.

This year I did 10 hours of community and service. 2 hours helping at
my old school, 5 hours selling poppy at Walmart and 3 hours at the can
food dive.

Health and Social Education

This area of interaction delves into the range of human issues that exists in human societies, such as social structures,
relationships and health. During the five years of the programme, this AOI will help you to find out how these issues
affect societies, communities and individuals, including yourself. Through the area of health and social education, you
can identify and develop skills that will enable you to function as effective member of societies, as well as learning
about how you are changing and how to make informed decisions that may relate to your welfare.

Reflection on this AOI

Which health and social issues affect my age group? How were they approached so far this year in the
school?

Health issues that affect my age group are going to the
restaurant to mush. People go to the restaurant to mush and they
become overweight. We did not really approach this problem;
everybody still goes to the restaurant, depanoer and the cafeteria
too often.

Which other issue(s) should be addressed in this school for your group age? Why do you think so
An issue that should be addressed is bulling, I know it is already being
addressed but I still know people that are being bulling. It should be
addressed because the bully has to learn that what he is doing is not right
and that he is hurting other people.

Environments

This area of interaction considers how human interact with the world at large and the parts we play in our
environments. It extends into areas beyond human issues and asks students to examine the interrelationships of
different environments. Both immediate classroom environments and global environments are to be considered.

Reflection on this AOI

How did I affect my environments this year? How did my environments affect me?

This year I respected the environment in school and the environment
out of school, I did not litter. I do not understand the second part of the
question; I dont think the environment changed me.

Human ingenuity

This AOI deals with the way in which human minds have influenced the world, for example, the way we are, think,
interact with each other, create, find solutions to and cause problems, transform ideas and rationalize thought. It
also considers the consequences of human thought and action.

Reflection on this AOI

What have I created this year in school that I am the most proud of? Why is it so?

I know that most of the people must say that that the thing that they
created that they are most proud of is a project but not me. The thing that I
created that I am most proud of is friendships.

PART B: Your pieces of work

In all the pieces of work that you have included in your portfolio, chose one of them in
order to answer the following questions.
