Bersihkan kedua permukaan pengukur
dengan baik
Sebelum pengukuran dimulai pastikan
angka nol pada thimble sesuai dengan
garis referensi pada outer sleeve, jika tidak
lakukan setting
Selalu gunakan ring pemberhenti (rachet
stop) ketika melakukan pengukuran
Pada pengukuran yang berulang-ulang,
tempatkanlah pada alat dudukan
mikrometer (mikrometer stand). Jepitlah
rangka mikrometer sedemikian rupa
sehingga tidak menggangu pengukuran
maupun terhindar dari mikrometer jatuh
