Users must pay attention to the level switch of USER IO points during operation (refer to
the definition of C-2 below) and switch to the corresponding level according to IN point
voltage mode. Failing to switch to the correct level might cause IN points to have no
response.

C-2USER IN level switch

DefinitionThere is a level switch of USER IN connector at C-2 for NPN/PNP mode switch. The
default value is PNP mode. In NPN mode, USER IN signals are low active (0V) when IN
points are connected to 0V. In PNP mode, USER IN signals are high active (E24V) when
IN points are connected to E24V.
Connector definitionSwitching to the left is NPN mode, to the right PNP mode (default).

1.IN points: Input of 24V signals.
2. The application of O points is shown as the diagram below
The left area in the dotted lines is the output interface that controls the internal O points. If there is a
component that requires activation, connect it to the connector of O point signal for control.

The current of the controllers O points must be less than 60m A. The formula of current is
listed as below
Imax = VEE/R (R refers to the rated resistance value of the equipment in use.)
If the current exceeds this value, the component would get burned. Please be
extremely careful.
Please connect VEE power ground of loading resistance (R) to EGND (E24V GND) of the
controller to make a loop.
Please refer to the loading specifications to select VEE voltage value.

2.4 SERIAL IO
IO module of the controller system adopts serial transmission with maximum two I/O control ports (depending
on the type of hardware adopted at the controlling side). The number of the maximum points controlled by
each I/O port is also varied due to different seletions of hardware applied by the controlled side.

The configuration of serial I/O is as the diagram below

2. Examples of I/O points calculations
Calculation of I/O points
(1). For the hardware of the controlling side that adopts PCC-1840 with EIO-2000-2, the max. I/O points
are
2 (control ports) 2( EIO-2000-2) 60 IN =240 IN points
2(control ports) 2( EIO-2000-2) 48 OUT =192 OUT points
(2). For the hardware of the controlling side that adopts LNC-510i with SIO-1540 I/O module, the max.
I/O points are
1 (control ports) 2(SIO-1540) 40 IN =80 IN points
1 (control ports) 2(SIO-1540) 32 OUT =64 OUT points
Apply the formula above for other calculations accordingly.
Please refer to the operation instruction of each hardware for the operation method.

SETTINGS, LIGHTS, & OPERATION
PNP & NPN SWITCH
Use this switch to select the IN point mode for EIO-2000. The 20 IN points of each connector (P1 ~P3)
can use the same mode concurrently or to be set separately.
(1). PNP mode (Default value)
When SW is switched to PNP mark, the IN point of that IO connector is set to PNP mode, which
means when the input signal is E24V, this IN point will respond.

(2). NPN mode
When SW is switched to NPN mark, the IN point of that IO connector is set to NPN mode, which
means when the output signal is EGND, this IN point will respond.

The system of components power supply must be the same as that of E24V & EGND, or
IN points would not be able to function.
Please turn off the power of E24V before switching the modes. Please do not perform the
switching when power is still on.

(2) O points
The type of O points is SOURCE TYPE; when it is activated, the output voltage is E24V, and the
maximum current is 60mA.

Please do not select a loading that exceeds the current of 60mA or it might cause damage
to components.
E24V/60 mA=400 The loading resistance should NOT be less than this
value.
Please pay extra attention that IC will immediately get burned when O points touch the
ground which causes a short circuit.

The serial wiring is an 1-to-1 connection. When manufacturing the wiring by yourself,
please pay attention to the shielding of the lead materials. Please refer to appendix 1.

SLAVE SWITCH
This switch sets the number of SLAVE. The set SLAVE can only function properly within the application
of relative software and PLC programming. After SLAVE is set, please do not change the setting if no
necessary.
Set IO module to SLAVE 1: Switch 1 (S1) to the bottom, and 2 & 3 to the top.

Set IO module to SLAVE 2: Switch 2 (S2) to the bottom, and 1 & 3 to the top.

E24V/EGND POWER INPUT PINS
1. There is one power connector for 40IN/ 32OUT, and 2 power connectors for 60IN/ 48OUT. The
power supply is used for IO input/output. Please input E24V via the 2 connectors to insure power
stability.
2. When the power is input normally, the light of E24V will turn on.

The input voltage must be within the range of 24V0.5V.
Please input the FG contact to the earth of POWER rather than EGND. To connect earth
and EGND will cause unexpected damage. Please pay extra attention for wiring.

LIGHTS
E5V light
When EIO-2000 module is connected to the controller unit, after the power is on, this light turns on to
indicate that power supply of the module is ready.

CS, DO lights
If EIO-2000 module is connect to the controller properly, after the power is on, CS & DO lights will turn on.
If only one light turns on, this means there is some abnormality, and the following transmission will not be
successful.

LK, DI lights
After the CS & DO lights turn on, if the set number of SLAVE in EIO-2000 module and the controllers
PLC software are the same, and the transmission is normal, the LK & DI lights will turn on.

E24V light
When E24V light is on, this means the power supply of IO interface works normally. If this light is off,
there will be no response of IO points.

APPENDIX CRS-232 WIRING

80 LNC Technology Co., Ltd.

APPENDIX CRS-232 WIRING
The so-called serial port refers to a transmission interface between a serial port & external signals. RS-232C
is a relatively simple transmission interface. Without the application of hardware volume control, RS232C can
still process Full Duplex Transmission with 3 signal lines.
The electrical characteristic of RS-232 is non-parallel transmission which gets interference easily. Therefore
the transmission distance is shorter, around 15m. According to the standard regulation of RS-232C, the
connecting circuit adopts a pair of mechanical D type connector, which can be either 25 (Abbr. DB25) or 9
(Abbr. DB9) pins. Most PC systems adopt DB9 as shown in the diagram below

Pin Abbr. Definition
Pin1 CD Carrier Detect
Pin2 RXD Receive
Pin3 TXD Transmit
Pin4 DTR Data Terminal Ready
Pin5 GND Ground
Pin6 DSR Data Set Ready
Pin7 RTS Request To Send
Pin8 CTS Clear To Send
Pin9 RI Ring Indicator

MAKE A TRANSMISSION CABLE
Generally speaking, there are two types of serial ports: 9-pin & 25-pin. Usually NC side has a 9-pin male
connector, and PC side has either a 9-pin or 25-pin male connector, which theoretically are the same and can
be switched by J umper. As to the applications of other control systems, the principles are about the same as
these 9 pins. Sometimes, it is sufficient to control a system with 3 pins. The most basic 3 pins are the 2
nd
, 3
rd
,
& 5
th
pins, which are used for receiving, transmitting, and grounding purposes, respectively.
Additionally, in order to decrease interference, please weld the seperator to the external metal part of the
connector.
The connecting methods of the pins are listed below
