1 About the Program The Program is based on an integral approach that human rights promotional and protection activities ought to be addressed at both national and international, not only as one alternate to another, but as both complementary and supplementary. It provides a unique opportunity for participants to understand the role of human rights in in creating a just, peaceful, harmonious, and a common world. The program undertakes an apolitical, nonpartisan, and non-advocacy approach in its content and style, and is based on international human right laws normative and institutional framework. The program aims to strengthen and empower both individuals and institutions engaged in human rights work. Objectives: - To provide conceptual awareness and understanding of the human rights paradigm; - To emphasis the broader and integral understanding of access to justice, good governance and human rights; - To equip individuals and organizations to integrate their leaning into their routine and daily activities; - To mainstream gender, child, and other legally protected groups into the human rights scene; - To encourage participants to develop their own unique strategies based on their differing context; - To familiarize participants with both national and international mechanism addressing human rights issues, and complementary nature of both; & - Mentor pre-selected participants.

Curriculum Model The participatory curriculum design model for the program is flexible and custom tailored to the needs of individual and organization participants. The intermediate participants will have a greater say in the development of curriculum. The Model mainly uses the practioners materials prepared by the UNOHCHR, UNDP, and other inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, and supplemented by various other books, documents, handouts and exercises. The underlying theme of the program is that the real content will come from the participants and the Program will channelize that content into a larger international human rights normative and institutional framework. The Facilitators are skilled in adult education methodologies, and aware of the highly practical and flexible nature of the program. The Program curriculum also tailors its model to the detailed Individual Plan of Learning and Action submitted by the Participants. The model also integrates train the trainers approach as some of the participants are expected to be assigned the role of facilitators.
