Inspiration
First they came for the
communists, and I did not
speak out-
because I was not a
communist;
Then they came for the
socialists, and I did not speak
out-
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade
unionists, and I did not speak
out-
because I was not a trade
unionist;
They they came for the jews,
and I did not speak out-
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me-
and there was no one left to
speak our for me.

Curriculum Model
The participatory curriculum design model for the program is flexible and custom tailored to the needs of individual and
organization participants.
The intermediate participants will have a greater say in the development of curriculum. The Model mainly uses the
practioners materials prepared by the UNOHCHR, UNDP, and other inter-governmental and non-governmental
organizations, and supplemented by various other books, documents, handouts and exercises.
The underlying theme of the program is that the real content will come from the participants and the Program will
channelize that content into a larger international human rights normative and institutional framework. The Facilitators are
skilled in adult education methodologies, and aware of the highly practical and flexible nature of the program.
The Program curriculum also tailors its model to the detailed Individual Plan of Learning and Action submitted by the
Participants. The model also integrates train the trainers approach as some of the participants are expected to be
assigned the role of facilitators.
