PAY FORWARD SCHOLARSHIP

1. The scholarship will be awarded to one student who has graduated from UNC High
School, from the top 10% of his/her class; and whose family is financially disadvantaged.
2. The scholarship will pay tuition and school mandatory fees only, directly to UNC
Treasurers office for 8 continuous semesters.
a. Subjects should be restricted to what is required by the chosen course.
b. Award may be made for summer classes with subjects prescribed by the course, for
as long as it will help the student graduate early. Any summer award will follow the
rule #3, regarding grade requirement.
c. Summer class credits will be deducted from the 8 semester scholarship. Example: 2
summers of 12 credits each is equivalent to one semester; then there will be 7
semesters of scholarship remaining.
3. The scholarship is awarded per semester depending on the following:
a. Student should be enrolled full load at all times.
b. Student should maintain an average of 2.00 on a scale of 4.00-1.00, 1.00 being the
highest.
c. Student should not have a grade lower than 2.50 in any subject.
4. The scholarship will be discontinued on the following conditions:
a. If the student marries
b. If a female student gets pregnant
5. In case of prolonged absence from school due to illness and the student needs to drop, a
detailed medical certificate is required. The scholarship will be suspended for that
semester or summer. Depending on the grades at the end of the prior semester, the
scholarship may be reinstated, but the lost semester (during the illness) will be counted as
part of the 8 semester scholarship.
6. The student is required to submit each semester and/or summer:
a. List of subjects to be taken at the beginning of each semester and/or summer
b. Official grades every after midterms and finals
7. In the event the student cannot continue due to severe financial hardship and that he/she
cannot shoulder his/her personal expenses, the scholarship will be cancelled.
8. If student comes from out of town, the parent/family will be responsible for paying board
and lodging, uniforms, books, other school supplies and all other personal expenses.
9. Student is not required to pay back the benefactor, but should perpetuate the scholarship
by helping another student outside of blood relatives, once gainfully employed and
financially stable.
10. The scholarship is non-transferable to sibling/s.
11. The scholarship will be cancelled in case of death of student.
12. The scholarship will be cancelled in the event of illness or death of the benefactor.
