Disabled kids enjoy fun weekend thanks to
Bexley SNP and !ex "ifts
17 Bexley youngsters, aged 12 to 18, with disabilities including autism,
ADHD, learning difficulties and physical impairments, were able to enoy
a residential wee!end away this month than!s to local charity, Bexley

The weekend, which took place 31 May - 1 June at the PGL Activity centre in
Marchants Hill, urrey, was sponsored !y idcup-!ased li"t #anu"acturer,
Ape$ Li"ts% &t saw #any youn' people, so#e o" who# have never previously
spent a ni'ht away "ro# ho#e, en(oy an e$citin' action-packed weekend o"
"un activities with other children, at the sa#e ti#e o""erin' the "a#ilies a well-
deserved !reak%
)The kids had a 'reat ti#e, they loved all the activities, especially the !i'
swin'% *ver the weekend not only were new "riendships developed, !ut so#e
old ones rea""ir#ed% +or e$a#ple, two on the weekend were !rother and
sister, who live separately in lon'-ter# care, so it 'ave the# the opportunity to

The children had the "ull support o" "ive e$perienced sta"" as they participated
in a host o" outdoor pursuits, and en(oyed their independence% Additionally,
they worked towards an A2A1 ,uali"ication - a "le$i!le, #ulti-level
pro'ra##e ai#ed at 11-13 year olds%
