Glasgow area youth and concerned citizens are invited
to join the Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force at the invitation
of the City of Glasgow to celebrate Glasgow Spay Days, a
no-cost, large volume spay and neuter event on Friday and
Saturday, July 18th & 19th.
For Hi-Line families in need and their pets, local
volunteers and pet owners will come together with
community business, civic, and elected leaders to make
a difference for the health and well-being of pets in Valley
County. Friday and Saturdays Spay Days event will take place
at the Valley Event Center at the Fairgrounds in Glasgow
from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Special thanks to the Hi-Line
Youth Hockey Association for use of their facility.
It is important to note that Glasgow Spay Days is
intended to raise awareness and to assist pet owners in
need, not to compete with our local veterinarians. If you can
afford to do so, you can best help our effort by scheduling an
appointment with your local vet and allowing this event to
serve those who need it most.
Our community is coming together to solve a community
problem: pet overpopulation and neglect. This is the message
of the Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force, which has visited
Glasgow for community events several times over the last
few years, spaying and neutering hundreds of dogs and
cats. In 2011, the Task Force assisted our community with a
barnstorming event, spaying and neutering 186 semi-feral
barn cats in North Valley County and preventing the birth of
hundreds of unwanted kittens. This success was followed by
dog and cat events in the city of Glasgow in 2012 and 2013.
As stated by Kali Lien following a Wolf Point Pet Care
Event, My initial goal was to help the animals, which we
did, but what happened was something totally unexpected
and was left in our hearts. A goodness that affected each
person which will affect the town, which will affect the
world...It made my heart smile to see everyone together, to
see people without any self-confidence jumping in and being
responsible for a certain job. You could just tell how good it
made them feel.
Large-volume events such as this cannot provide
specific appointment times, so the two days will be divided
