C - Excavation and Earth Works

Excavation
1) Excavation for column footings up to 5'0" deep commencing from existing ground level including
levelling and ramming bottom, part return and fill, dewatering and removal of surplus excavated
material as directed.
'- Ditto- for staircase footings
- Ditto - for wall foundations
2) Excavation in compacted fill for plinth beams commencing from final fill level including levelling
and ramming the bottom, disposal of excavated materials.
3) Excavation for column footings up to 5'0" deep commencing from existing ground level including
levelling and ramming bottom, part return and fill, and removal of surplus excavated material as
directed.
-Ditto- but the depth between 5'-0" to 10'-0".
-Ditto- but the depth between 10'-0" to 15'-0".
4) Excavation for column pits not exceeding 1.8 m deep from reduced level except rock requiring
blasting with part return fill in and rammed surplus disposed as directed.
5) Excavating in trenches in any material except rock requiring blasting width not exceeding 10,
not exceeding 50 deep.
6) Excavating trenches exceeding 1.0 m not exceeding 2.00 m deep backfilled into excavation and
remove surplus materials on site, including shoring and keeping excavation free from ground
water and surface water generally.
7) Excavation in any material with except rock requiring blasting in retaining wall base ,staircase
Foundations, etc
Filling
1) Approved quality imported hard earth filling under floors well rammed and consolidated in
layers
2) Filling to make up levels with selected imported earth under floors, off site.
3) Filling under floors with approved quality earth available from item B1 including spreading,
watering and compacting using vibrating roller/plate compactor.
4) Imported earth filling laid and compacted to specified thickness
i. To excavation
ii. To formation of levels
iii. Under floor slab
iv. Excavated selected earth filling laid and compacted to specified thickness to formation
of levels



5) Back filling with available earth including compaction as per the specification.
6) Approved earth filling with imported earth in 150 mm layers under floors and well rammed and
consolidated in layer
Earthwork supports
1) Earthwork supports (Planking and Strutting) total depth exceeding 1.00 m but not exceeding
2.00 m and distance between vertical sides (Opposing faces) of excavation net exceeding 2.0 m.
2) Earthwork supports (Planking and Strutting) to vertical sides of pits, total depth not exceeding
80.
Surface treatment
1) Anti termite treatment shall be carried out by an approved specialized sub contractor (Pinlay or
equivalent) for the area of construction and shall be to the approval of the consultant.
2) Anti termite treatment Biflex or approved equivalent on excavated foundations & compacted
soil under floor shall be accordance with the manufactures specifications by an approved
specialist pest control contractor and pest control contractor shall submit a guarantee for a
minimum of 10 years from the date of handing over the project.
D - Concrete works
1) 2" thick lean concrete 1:3:6 (1") mix under column footings, staircase footings, wall foundations
and plinth beams
2) Reinforced Cement Concrete 1: 2: 4 (3/4") mix in the following
i. Column footings
ii. Staircase footing and shaft
iii. Columns
iv. Plinth beams
3" thick ground floor concrete slab in 1:3:6 (3/4") concrete mixes
Ground Floor Level to First Floor Level

3) Ordinary ,plain

set in 1:5 cement and sand mortar.
Brick work/Block Works
1) Walls in common bricks 9 thick, vertical, solid walls, English bond set in 1:5 cement and sand
mortar.

Walls in common bricks 4 thick, vertical, solid walls, stretcher bond set in 1:5 cement and

Damp Proof Course
1) Damp Proof Course 3/4" thick in cement and sand 1:2 finished with the application of two coats
of hot tar and blinded with sand.
2) Damp Proof Course out of 20 mm thick 1:2 cement mortar finished with two coats of hot
bitumen.
ASPHALT WORK
Damp Proof Membrane
1) 1000 gauge Polythene sheet as horizontal damp proof membrane under ground floor concrete
slab. Rate shall include for up stands to sides and corners not exceeding 6" in height.
2) Damp proof membrane under floor slab out of 1000 gauge Polythene.
i. At ground floor level
ii. Terrace at kitchen floor level
Water Proofing Membrane
1) Provide approved vertical water proofing membrane up to 7'-0" height to the shower areas of
Ground floor toilet by a specialized water proofing contractor.
2) Provide approved horizontal water proofing membrane to Ground floor toilet floors including 6"
wide dressing into the wall by a specialized water proofing contractor.
3) Provide approved horizontal water proofing membrane to first floor Terrace & balcony including
6" wide dressing into the wall by a specialized water proofing contractor.
4) Provide approved horizontal water proofing membrane to the water tank slab by a specialized
water proofing contractor.
5) Prepare surface & apply cementitious waterproofing system by an approved specialist sub
contractor and waterproofing application strictly in accordance with the manufactures
specifications.
i. To toilet floor in ground floor

G - ROOF COVERING AND ROOF PLUMBING
Roof Frame

Roof Covering
1) Corrugated asbestoses sheet roof on reinforced concrete portal, steel frame work all complete
as per the drawing.
Half round clay tiles two layers laying over asbestoses roofing sheets match with existing roof
and as drawings
Two way reinforced double sided Aluminum foil with tape joints laid over and including 50x50
mm GI mesh
Calicut pattern grade 1 clay ridge/hip cover fixed with 1:3 cement sand mortar.

2) Sloping asbestos sheet roofing above second floor laid on and including timber framework of 3"
x 4" wall plates, 4"x3" rafters @ 2'-0" centers, 2"x1" batterns complete with felt layer and 3 mm
thick both side laminated "MC" foil insulation layer to the Architects approval. Rate shall include
for polished exposed rafters type
3) Roofing profile Glamet G5 A40 or approved equivalent with top skin, Zn/Al coated colour
bonded steel with 0.35 mm base metal thickness and bottom skin Zn/Al coated colour bonded
steel with 0.32 mm base metal thickness including 50 mm thick insulation, Polyrethane with
40Kg/m3 density on steel framework all complete as per drawing.
Roof Plumbing
1) 2250 mm (approximate) girth custom made colour bonded Zinc- Aluminum coated gutter
with all accessories, brackets, GI reverts all complete to working order.
2) 9 wide asbestos cement gutter painted with one coat of acrylic filler and two coats of
whether shield emulsion paint with necessary brackets
