History
In 1905, 33 founders came together to form The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company.
Robert Todd Lincoln granted permission to use his fathers name and likeness chosen to embody the integrity
behind the companys mission.
Lincoln expanded into new markets and in 1967 introduced its rst variable annuity and rst retirement plan.
In 2006, Lincoln merged with Jefferson-Pilot Corporation, solidifying the company as one of the largest
and most enduring nancial services organizations in the United States.
Results for three months ended December 31, 2010
Lincoln had assets under management of $157 billion,
net income of $266 million, and liabilities of $181 billion.
Gross deposits were $5.5 billion with net ows of
$1.3 billion.
Cash and cash equivalents were $700 million held at the
holding company.
Full year 2010 highlights
$20.9 billion of consolidated deposits and $6.3 billion
of positive net ows, reecting our solid fundamentals
and franchise strength.
Total account balances rose 11% year-over-year to $157.3
billion, driven by positive equity markets and net ows.

You may have heard some bad press relating to indexed annuities. Products with 15-year
surrender schedules, surrender charges as high as 25%, and hidden expenses and fees.
These are NOT the types of products Lincoln offers.
Our xed indexed annuities are designed with the clients best interest in mind and feature:
No fees for purchasing the annuity (fees only
apply if an optional rider is elected)
Maximum surrender period of eight years
Maximum frst-year surrender charges of 9%,
and a declining schedule so charges decrease
each year
Ability to take a 10% penalty free withdrawal
during the surrender period immediately
no waiting periods
Access to money, without charge, if client
becomes terminally ill or enter a nursing home

Contract may be referred to as certicate in certain states

to a group annuity trust.

in an IRA or other tax-qualied plan, since these are already
afforded tax-deferred status.
