PRE-PLACEMENT RULES

Some of the important pre-placement rules are given below. Detailed
placement rules will be shared in due course.

The following rules are strictly applicable to all students:-

It is the students responsibility to keep a close watch on each and every
notices sent through their IMT Group ID/ Students personal email ID/ put up
on the LAN/ Notice Board available in the mess corridor, etc. from time to
time and follow the deadline/ instructions within the stipulated time. It is not
possible us to inform the students individually.

GENERAL RULES:

1 All the students are supposed to adhere to the deadline (even a minute is not
allowed after the deadline/ time slot) for sign ups, submission of documents,
placement related activities, etc. as per notice to be put up from time to time.
2 Those students, who are not adhering to the deadline for the submission/
verification of documents / important details (certain profiles, CVs, % of marks,
work exp. details, etc.), such student, would be debarred from the entire
placement process.
3 Those students, who are not adhering to the deadline for certain sign-ups, their
CVs/ profiles/ details, will not be sent to the companies for placement related
activities.
4 All correspondences should contain the name of Student, Roll No.
Those students, who are not mentioning their Name and Roll No. in
their correspondences/ emails, their correspondences will not be
considered by default.
5 Each student is required to maintain confidentiality of all information on
placement related activities. Any student if found guilty of associating
themselves in some way in disclosing the confidentiality of the information on
placement related activities (name of company, date of process, no. of
students placed, slotting details of placement process, etc.), strict action will be
taken including debarment from the entire placement process and not allowing
to attend the term exam without any deviation.
6 Each student is supposed to follow the instructions of Placement Office
Personnel & Company Handlers (who will be pre-decided by the placement
office) during PPT/ Guest Lectures/ placement process, etc. If any kind of
harassment/ misbehavior, etc. is noticed by any Placement Committee
Students/ company handler, necessary disciplinary action including debarment
from the entire placements will be taken without any intimation

ATTENDANCE:

Attendance for Pre-Placement Talks, Guest Lectures & Placement Committee
Meetings/ Open houses, etc. are compulsory for all the students including
placed/ opted out/ debarred as per notice to be put up.

For the convenience of the students the rules for PPTs, Guest Lectures &
Placecom meetings/ open houses, etc. are as under:

1 The maximum allowable absence from the above processes is Two (2).

2 If the above rule is not adhered to, the following would be applicable:

Miss Debarment from the first two short-listed/ processing

Miss - Debarment from the first five short-listed/ processing
companies.

Miss Complete debarment from Placement process.
3 Students can however, nominate any of their friends from their respective
batch to attend the PPTs on their behalf only in exceptional circumstances
and with prior intimation to Placement Officials at Placement Office. However,
if the nominee does not attend the presentation, the nominating student would
be marked absent.
4 It is the responsibility of the students attending the PPTs, guest lectures, other
events, etc. to make sure that his/ her attendance is taken.

SIGN UP:

Whenever a company invites applications for Placement Process/ Short Term
Projects/ B-School Events, etc., notices will be sent through mails mentioning
deadline for the same. The interested students would be required to sign up
before the deadline is over. If any student wants to withdraw he/ she may do so
within the given deadline.


PROCESS:

1 If a student is short-listed by a company for any placement related activities/
events/ competitions, etc., he/ she has to attend the same. If any student fails
to appear for the process on time, such student would be debarred from the
entire placement process.
In case there is an emergency, wherein the student or their direct blood
relations (parents & sibling) have been hospitalized or any personal tragedy,
the student would be exempted from debarment on producing the necessary
proof (hospital bills, etc., NOT medical certificate).
2 Any student if found guilty of fudging/ cheating during any placement process/ sign
ups, the student would be debarred from the entire placement process without any
intimation/ deviation.

3 Any student if found guilty of filling up of any wrong details in any forms/ details, the
student would be debarred from the entire placement process without any intimation/
deviation as the students are required to fill up the forms/ details in accordance with
the proof of documents/ verified CV.
4 Any student if found guilty of associating themselves in some way to kill the
interview/ company would be penalized by debarring from the entire placement
process.
5 If a student is found to have approached a company on his/ her own or forward
his/ her CV, without intimating the placement office, he/ she shall be debarred
from the entire Placement Process.
6 If any student (who is not the assigned handler of that company) tries to meet
the company officials directly for any clarification he/ she shall be debarred
from the entire placement process.
7 While applying to companies from outside (opted out students), the students
cannot forward their IMT CV, they will have to send a non IMT CV. Their CV
cannot bear the IMT logo and the placement office details.
8 The students are required to clear all their doubts regarding the sign up notices
to be sent by placement office for placement related activities/ events,
competitions, etc. The placement office cannot be held responsible, if there is
any problem later with these.
9 Once the student selected for a project, event, etc. through campus/ off
campus he/ she has to complete the same as per the guidelines of the
organization, otherwise he/ she would be debarred from the placement
process.
10 All students are required to carry their IMT I-Card, pen, pencil, etc. during the
sign-ups, placement related processes, etc.

MAINTAIN DECORUM:

1 Students are supposed to maintain decorum once inside the PPT/ Guest
Lecture/ events hall/ room. Irrelevant/ unwanted questions should be avoided.
Laptops, eatables, newspapers, etc. are not allowed into the Hall (except note
book, pen/ pencil) and the Mobile phones are strictly on switched off.
2 Students are supposed to reach the venue for PPT/ Process/ events, etc. at
least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. No students will be allowed to
enter the hall after the company officials enter the hall.
3 All the students are supposed to pay due attention during PPTs/ Guest
Lectures, placement process, events, etc. If any kind of compliant (including
sleeping) is noticed by any Corporate Officials, strict action will be taken
against such students.

DRESS CODE:

The students are required to strictly adhere to a formal dress code (with
blazer), clean shaved & well polished shoes, decent hair style, etc. for PPTs,
Guest Lectures, Placement related process, etc. Those found in in-formals
would not be allowed to enter the hall and would be treated as absent
(attendance rules apply).

Formal Dress Code:

Boys:
Light color solid formal full-sleeve shirt (preferably white/ light blue etc.).
No stripes/ checks permitted).
Dark color pleated formal trousers (preferably black/ navy blue).
Dark color matching blazer (preferably black/ navy blue).
Dark color matching formal tie (not too flashy).
Black Oxford leather shoes (with lace).
Dark color socks matching the color of the trousers.
Dark color belt matching the color of the shoes.

Girls:
Light color solid formal full-sleeve shirt (preferably white/light blue etc.).
(No stripes/ checks permitted).
Dark color formal trousers (preferably black/ navy blue).
Dark color matching blazer (preferably black/ navy blue).
Black closed formal shoes
Dark color socks matching the color of the trousers.
