Dear colleagues and friends,
The International Society of Quality Medicine (www.is-qm.eu) has the plea-
sure to announce "The 4 Seasons of Medicine, ' Cycle of International Meet-
ings" to be held from the 4th to the 7th of July 2014 in Strasbourg, France,
with the title FOCUSING ON THE NEW TREATMENT APPROACH FOR GASTRO-
ENTEROLOGICAL PROBLEMS AND ITS COMORBIDITIES.
A distinguished faculty is willing to share their specialized expertise on novel
gastroenterological issues through symposia, formal lectures and scientific
sessions on biofeedback. They will also provide clinical updates on the diagno-
sis, therapeutics management and palliation of various intestinal disorders.
More precisely the scientific agenda has been specifically designed to offer
practical treatment approaches for a wide array of gastrointestinal problems
including disorders of the esophagus and the stomach, liver disease, liver
transplantation, pancreas and biliary tract, small and large intestine diseases,
which healthcare professionals may readily integrate into their daily practice.
However, these disorders are often accompanied by either one or more addi-
tional medical problems, which co-occur with the primary disease, or by a
behavioural or mental disorder. For example, the functional gastrointestinal
disorders are often either accompanied by a depressive, phobic and anxiety
disorder and might show inadequate response to usual medical care, resulting
in both cases to the gastroenterologists effectively referring the patient for
psychological treatment.
Therefore, it is obvious that different healthcare professionals, such as Inter-
nal Medicine Physicians and more specifically Gastroenterologists, Hepatolo-
gists, General Surgeons, Psychiatrists and other specialties, have to deal with
a large number of often rather complicated medical problems on a very
frequent basis.
Thus, this meeting is a great opportunity for medical practitioners of different
countries and distinct but evidently complementary specialties to decode com-
plicated diagnosis issues, identify the latest developments and progress made
in treatment protocols, examine practical prevention and intervention issues,
as well as exchange ideas in order to provide comprehensive and quality medi-
cal care to their patients.
For all the above reasons we are looking forward to welcoming all of you in
Strasbourg one of the most beautiful cities of Europe.
