Check the TBM operators reports and follow-up any problems that are likely to be caused by, or

to affect the TBM's electrical system.

Inspect the grease pumps. Check the power cable connections for signs of damage or wear. Run
the pumps with the selector switches set to manual operation, and check for any unusual sounds.
The fans on the motors must rotate freely, without rubbing against the fan shroud. The terminal
boxes must be tightly closed.

Inspect the hydraulic pumps. Check the power cable connections for signs of damage or wear.

Inspect the GSC pumps. Check the power cable connections for signs of damage or wear. The
terminal boxes must be tightly closed.

Inspect the receptacles on the backup gantry. Check the spring-loaded covers for the
receptacles, and make sure that they are working properly.
Check the lighting fixtures for mechanical damage. Make sure the fixtures are threaded tightly to
the base, and the lock nuts are tight. Change any burned or failed light bulbs.

Check all of the power cables along the backup gantry frames for mechanical damage. This
check should include the cable jackets, and the connections to the light fixtures.

With the TBM control power key switch turned off, operate all of the pushbuttons and selector
switches on the control panel in the stationary shell. Make sure that all devices operate freely with
a direct and positive action.

Verify that all of the current readings are working properly by starting all of the TBM motors. With
all of the control handles in the neutral position, record the motor current.

Test the stationary shell and conveyor signal bell circuit.
With applicable substation breaker turned off, open the MCC on the backup gantry. Check the
power connections for signs of loosening or burning. Visually check the control wire connections
and make sure they are all tight. Inspect the enclosure; make sure that the door can be closed
gently and tightly, and the door can seal properly. Repeat for all MCCs and PDEs.

Check that all breaker handles function properly, and that the lockout mechanism is working.

Change any pilot lights or light bulbs that are not functioning.

With substation breakers turned off, inspect the motor starter enclosures. Before opening the
enclosure doors, operate the breaker handles. Make sure that the handles operate freely, and the
lockout mechanism functions properly.

Verify the correct operation of all emergency stop (E-stop) pushbuttons. Check that as each E-
stop pushbutton is pushed, the substation breakers turn off. Reset the breakers each time before
the next E-stop pushbutton is tested.
