RoSPA praising health and safety champions with Guardian Angels awards

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is developing a new awards scheme to
celebrate the work of people who go beyond the call of duty in health and safety matters.
ts !uardian Angels Awards will be held for the first ever time this year. These awards will celebrate
those people whose commitment" enthusiasm" diligence and initiative have made a real difference
to workplace safety and the safety of the wider community. This is the first time RoSPA has run an
awards scheme for individual people in its nearly #$$ years of history.
%rganisations are asked to nominate people for these awards by sending off a nomination form and

Some of the people who may be eligible for these awards include workers on the shop floor who
have used their day-to-day working environment to champion workplace safety" health and safety
managers who put e.ceptional effort into supporting the workforce/s wellbeing" or youth workers
and teachers who inform children about the benefits of safety and that it enables positive activity.

without fuss.
1e said people who deserve to receive a !uardian Angel award are around us every day but are
unnoticed. Recognising these people/s contributions will encourage other people to take action to
reduce in0uries and save lives" he added.
