The United States Customs Service has mandated the use of the SCAC for their Automated Manifest System (AMS).BESITEC requires the code for the data transaction with US customs. For the purposes of initiating the in-bond movement, the AMS participants who are transmitting their cargo declarations electronically, whether directly or through the use of a service provider or port authority, must obtain an international carriers bond.
