New BDU software version 1.70 for the TT-3084A,
TT-3086A and TT-3088A.



Subject:

Please be informed that a new BDU software version, ver. 1.70 has been released.
This new BDU SW is containing the new features for the re-launched Sailor Fleet77
and Sailor Fleet33.

The SW version is common for all the Sailor Fleet products (TT-3084A, TT-3086A &
TT-3088A), Fleet77, Fleet55 and Fleet33 and is backward compatible to the older
versions of Sailor Fleet. Included in the BDU SW are the latest HPA software
versions for the Fleet77 HPA, which are labeled Fleet77 HPA and Fleet55 HPA
which are labeled Fleet55 HPA, 2.00 for the Fleet77/Fleet55 HPA which are labeled
Fleet77/Fleet55 HPA and HPA software version 1.03 for the Fleet33 HPA.

Please be informed that only FleetCP ver. 2.13 supports the BDU SW ver. 1.70!
However, FleetCP 2.13 supports all previous BDU SW versions, for all types of Sailor
Fleet (Fleet77, Fleet55 and Fleet33).

The new software can be downloaded from the Thrane & Thrane A/S eSupport
Download Center as follows:
1) Enter eSupport:

2) Select GLOBAL SUPPORT - LOGIN
3) Enter the Downloads Fleet Software
4) Find and download TT-3084A CapsatFleet77, version 1.70 or TT-3084A
CapsatFleet55, version 1.70 or TT-3084A CapsatFleet33, version 1.70.
5) Find and download this file TT-3084A - TT-3086A - TT-3088A FleetCP ver.
2.13.
The file you are downloading is a ZIP-file, which you have to extract using WinZip or
WinRAR.

Identification:

Points of changes since last BDU release (ver. 1.61).

BDU:

1. The NMEA port have been enabled and is now able to receive external GPS
input.

In the Handset Menu Super User GPS Source can be toggled between
internal and external GPS use.

2. The I/O port has now an External ringer function, which can be enabled and
programmed for active High or active Low output to the alarm device (not
delivered from Thrane & Thrane).

The External Ringer has to be set up in the Handset Menu Super User
Routing the Handset #1 /#2 and/or RJ 11 #1/ #2/ #3.

3. A Watchdog has been implemented. When enabled, the Watchdogs
function allows for a power reset. A period of time (hour(s)) can be set as to
how often the Fleet should perform a power reset.

The time between reset can be set up in the Handset Menu Service User
Sys Watchdog Watchdog On /Off and the timing xxx Hours.

4. Correction in the Handset Menu Status GPS Info displaying, so GPS
position will be shown as e.g.:
Latitude: 55N 65
Longitude: 012E 45

5. Bug corrections.

A TT-3084A Sailor Fleet77, a TT-3086A Sailor Fleet55 or a TT-3088A Sailor
Fleet33.
A PC running OS Win98, Win2000 or WinXP.
A RS-232E (serial "straight line") cable.

Installation procedure.

Fleet77/55/33 BDU software ver. 1.70 can be uploaded to all BDUs with SW ver.
later than 1.10 (BDU SW before ver. 1.10 should be upgraded stepwise by SW ver.
1.08 and 1.10):

1. It is recommended to back up the configuration by running FleetCP 2.13 and
after configuration transfer to the PC, save the configuration to the hard disk.
2. Unzip the files to a folder of your own choice.
3. Double click MMUpload icon.
4. Press the Add files button.
5. Find the folder where all files are saved and select the lower.swu and
upper.swu, for the Fleet77 64K and Fleet55, with production date before
week18/year 2006 and for the latest Fleet77 and all Fleet55 terminals with the
new power connector, and select lower.swu and upperx.swu (not
backward compatible with old hardware). Fleet77 128K terminals can be
identified by a marking next to the Config Module on the BDU: 128Kbps>>.
The Fleet55 with production date later than week18/year2006 can only be
identified by checking the label at the bottom of the BDU. The latest Fleet77
and Fleet55 BDU can be identified by the Sub-D power connector.
6. Click and high light both, press the Open button.
7. Press the COM set-up button, and verify your COM port and set baud rate to
115200 (equivalent to the Data set-up baud rate of the BDU (check in
handset).
8. Press Upload.
9. Switch on the BDU (if already on, switch off and then on).
10. The handset will show Handset COM Error while the SW upload is in
progress.

Fleet77/55 HPA software ver. 1.07 will automatically be uploaded to the HPA from
the BDU when BDU SW 1.70 is installed if not already uploaded. If a new
Wheelmark HPA is installed, the Fleet77/55 HPA software ver. 2.00 will
automatically be uploaded to the HPA from the BDU SW 1.70. The HPA SW version
can be checked in Menu Status Antenna FEU SW version:

Fleet33 HPA software ver. 1.03 will automatically be uploaded to the HPA from the
BDU when BDU SW 1.70 is installed if not already uploaded. The HPA SW version
can be checked in Menu Status Antenna FEU SW version.
