SCOPE
This specification covers the minimum requirements for the design, construction, materials, testing, inspection and
preparation for shipment of overhead Bridge cranes, hoists and accessories to be supplied by VENDOR. Bridge
Cranes are part of the project INGENIERA BSICA Y DE DETALLE AMPLIACIN ESTACIN ACACAS A
90K, owned by ECOPETROL S.A.
The details relevant to the process requirements, construction features, performance guarantees and some other
requirements are specified in the Data Sheet.
This document covers also all auxiliaries associated with the package forming an integral part of the VENDOR
scope of supply as listed in the Data Sheet and Material Requisition.

SCOPE OF SUPPLY
2.1
INCLUSIONS
The overhead bridge cranes and hoists shall be supplied and guaranteed as a complete unit by a single source of
supply. The unit shall be supplied with all accessories and appurtenances necessary for their satisfactory
operation, including, but not limited to the following:

Power feeding festooned cable with all necessaries appurtenances for their correct supporting and movement

In principle the battery limits shall be located at the edges of the package unit area and shall be as follows:

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
It is Vendor responsibility to ask for any documents called for in the attached documents, which Purchaser may
unintentionally have omitted to mention in the 1244_67-00-MR-4065-01 and distribute.

In case of conflict between codes, rules, specification and standards Vendor must bring it to Purchaser attention
asking for written clarification or deviation to be obtained before purchase order and/or proceeding with the
manufacturing or any other work.
It will be Vendors responsibility to comply with any effective local law or code, and to bring to the attention of
Purchaser, in writing, any requirement of the applicable technical specifications in conflict with them for the
resolution of purchaser.
For any part of the supply not covered by the 1244_67-00-MR-4065-01 and its attachments Vendor shall submit
his standards for Purchaser review and approval.
Vendor shall list all the deviations and clarifications to the data sheet, technical specifications, international codes,
etc. for Purchaser review and approval. In case Vendor proposal does not contain any deviation or clarification
then it will be understood that the supply will be in strict compliance with the requirements of this Material
Requisition
If any deviation/clarification have not been previously approved in writing by Purchaser, they will not be deemed
valid even if shown on a drawing approved by Purchaser, and shall not be considered a base for future claims by
Vendor.
Purchaser shall in no way be responsible to discover exceptions to the technical specification which Vendor may
unintentionally have omitted to submit to Purchaser review and approval.

The supply shall be designed in compliance with documents, Codes and Standards mentioned in this MR.

DOCUMENTS PRIORITY
Should any conflict or ambiguity arise between the applicable local laws, regulations, standards and international
codes, the following order of precedence shall apply, unless otherwise indicated:

International codes and standards.
Any ambiguity in, or contradiction among the documents of the same priority shall be submitted by Vendor, in
writing for purchaser resolution.
SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
6.1
GENERAL
The bridge crane shall be designed CMAA 74 Class B (for maintenance purposes)
The VENDOR shall comply with the recommendations as well as the mandatory requirements
6.2
The operating requirements of the equipment, as well as the plant location and environmental conditions, are
described on the data sheets.
Hoists, Trolley and Girder Bridge shall indicate Safety weight load (SWL) in two visible sides.
MECHANICAL
The Hoist, Trolley, Girder Bridge and End trucks capacity shall be as specified on the data sheets.
Hoist shall have asbestos free brake, holding the load at any desired height.
6.3
Trolley wheel assemblies shall contain a rotating-type axle, mounted on anti-friction bearings in fixed
housings.
Swivel hook complete with safety latches shall be provided.
MATERIALS
Structural steel material shall be ASTM A-36.

6.4
CRANE CHARACTERISTICS
Where permanent hoisting facilities are specified with electrical driver, they should have the following capabilities,
unless otherwise is established in the Data Sheet:
hoisting speed, slow: between 0.30 m/min and 0.40 m/min

hoisting speed, fast: between 4.5 m/min and 5.5 m/min

Cross-travel speed: between 8 m/min and 10 m/min
Long-travel speed: between 15 m/min and 18 m/min
NOTE: The slower speeds shall apply for a lifting mass of 2 TONS or more.
6.5
TROPICALIZATION
All instrumentation and electrical equipment installed in the plant shall be supplied tropicalized.

6.7
BRIDGE SWITCHES
Bridge crane and hoist translation trolley shall be provided of limit switches to reduce speed close to runway
ends automatically. Additional limit switches shall be provided to avoid buffers collision at runways ends.
ELECTRIC MOTORS
Motors shall be induction squirrel-cage type and shall be suitable for the running characteristics of the driver
machines; all motors shall be suitable for direct start and continuous duty.
Insulation shall be class F. Temperature rise shall be class B over 40C of ambient temperature.
Motors for Class 1 Div 2 classified area compliant.
The terminal boxes enclosure shall be NEMA 4X + increased safety. A terminal strip for grounding connection
shall be included in the terminal boxes, for NEMA frames 180 and above another grounding lug shall be included
in the motor pedestal.
6.8
VOLTAGE LEVEL
The following are the voltage levels adopted for the electrical system at rated frequency of 60 Hz.
The Bridge crane electrical power supply shall be 480V / 3PH / 60Hz. All the required voltage transformations in
order to operate the bridge cranes are included in the vendor scope of supply
6.9
SOUND LEVEL
The noise level at any location 1 meter from equipment shall not exceed 85 dBA.
Vendor shall provide any acoustic attenuation element to reduce levels if it exceeds 85 dBA.
6.10
PAINTING
Surface preparation, painting color shall be in accordance with attached specification 1244_67-00-JSD-2300-01
The bridge cranes final color shall be: Principal color RAL 1003 with diagonal RAL 9004 stripes.

AREA CLASIFICATION
Area classification for bridge cranes is specified in the attached data sheets.
7
INSPECTIONS AND TEST
All equipment subject to this 1244_67-00-MR-4065-01 will be submitted to Purchaser and/or their delegates
inspection. Vendor shall communicate in due time the date of each test (or inspection prior to the shipment) to
allow the presence of inspectors.
The minimum extent of inspection activities by Purchaser (approval and/or review of documents, random and/or
complete inspection of material, spot and/or complete witnessing of test) is specified in the Inspection and Test
Plan (ITP), 1244_67-00-ITP 4065-01.
The type and extent of tests shall be in strict compliance with the contractual codes, standards, data sheets and/or
specifications attached to the 1244_67-00-MR-4065-01.
The acceptance by Purchaser of any certificate or document proving that tests have been carried out, both on
prototypes and on supplied material with successful result, does not release the Vendor from the guarantee
relevant to materials, operation and suitable protection for transport.

ENGINEERING / DOCUMENTS AND DRAWINGS
Drawings and documentation, as detailed in the 1244_67-00-SR-4065-01 Part II, are an integral part of this
requirement.
VENDOR shall supply all the technical documentation relating to instrumentation, and control systems. It shall
include the respective maintenance manuals and all electronic circuit diagrams, in sufficient detail for an adequate
local maintenance to be carried out.
All documents, including job specifications, equipment specifications, as built drawings and data sheets,
calculations and all other mechanical catalogue information, will be presented as electronic data, in native format
as Microsoft Office files.
Apart from the required paper copies, all drawings and technical information will be presented as electronic files
fully compatible with AutoCAD version 2000.
English or Spanish shall be used for all documentation pertaining to this supply, with the exception of instruction,
operating and maintenance manual, which shall be written in Spanish.

SPARE PARTS
9.1
ERECTION, PRE-COMMISSIONING, COMMISSIONING, START UP SPARE PARTS
Pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up spare parts are included in the scope of supply. Vendor shall
submit with quotation the priced of recommended (by VENDOR) spare list

SPARE PARTS FOR TWO YEARS
Separated quotation shall be submitted with spare parts (recommended by VENDOR) for two years for each item.

SPECIAL TOOLS
Special tools, if any, are included on the scope of supply.

GUARANTEES
Vendor shall guarantee the performance of the Bridge cranes in accordance with the requirements of data sheet.
In particular, Manufacturer shall guarantee the lifting capacity (kg), the lifting speed, the bridge traveling speed, the
trolley speed as specified in the Data Sheet.
The Manufacturer shall submit a test run procedure before delivery for Purchaser approval.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
VENDOR shall establish, implement and maintain a Job Quality Management System based on ISO 9001 edition
2000 as applicable, in order to ensure that the requirements of the Purchase order are met:
Job organization
VENDORs management organization and resources shall be adequate for the fulfillment of his commitments
under the Purchase order. VENDOR shall submit details of his Job Organization and job Execution Scheme for
PURCHASER for review.
Design Quality Control
VENDOR shall take all necessary measure to avoid mistakes, errors and omissions; and make the necessary
check to avoid inconsistencies with other project documents or interference between the various elements
designed.
The necessary work procedures, instructions and qualified personnel shall be made available at all work
processes.
VENDOR shall establish and implement QA/QC management in Sub-VENDORS premises wherever outsourcing
is done.
Whenever non-conformity is detected by VENDOR or by others, VENDOR shall ensure to segregate the
Nonconforming product to prevent unintended use and suitable corrective action shall be taken without any delay
to avoid re-occurrence of NC.
VENDOR shall prepare and issue a Job Quality Assurance Plan for PURCHASERs approval (including but not
limited to Job organization, Job execution Scheme, applicable procedures and instructions, quality control system,
control of records, document control).
