The IndigoVision Media Access Library is a software programmers library which allows third party application
developers to access live video and audio streams from IndigoVision IP Cameras. The Media Access Library presents
the media as low level data suitable for analysis or rendering by the 3rd party application. Examples of third party
applications which might use the Media Access Library are:
Automatic Number Plate Recognition
(ANPR) systems
Face Recognition systems
Advanced analytics systems
Specialist video wall display systems
Once the third party application has performed its analysis of the IndigoVision media, it can optionally feed information
back into the IndigoVision SMS4
TM
system in the form of alarms and/or text data. Alarms can trigger a wide range of
actions within SMS4
TM
. This includes starting recordings on an IndigoVision Network Video Recorder, displaying live
video from cameras on monitors and IndigoVision Control Center viewing panes, moving PTZ cameras to specifc
locations or sending notifcation emails.
Text data describing the analysis results can be logged against video recordings for the relevant camera on an
IndigoVision Network Video Recorder. For example, a license plate number or a recognised persons name. The
data can then be displayed when reviewing recording and can be used to search large recording databases allowing
operators to quickly fnd just the recordings that have been identifed as interesting.

Interface
The API is based on the C programming language.
It is provided as a Windows DDL so may be used from Visual Basic or .NET applications.
Video Access
Raw MPEG-4 or H.264 video data, YUV 4:2:0, YUY2, UYVY, 24 bit RGB
Audio Access
Raw MPEG-4 AAC audio data, Decoded audio in PCM format
Transmitters
All IndigoVision MPEG-4 and H.264 IP Cameras and Transmitters are supported at all available resolutions
including SIF, 2SIF, 4SIF and HD.
Licensing
The Media Access Library is licenced per-stream by a licence dongle which can be purchased from IndigoVision. Development licenses are
available to third parties free-of-charge to allow the development of an integrated solution. End users of the integrated solution must buy an
appropriate license donge from IndigoVision.
