YOUR VICTORY IS IN THE VALLEY!

JULY 2014
E - SERMON
The valley has always been seen as the place
of trouble or conflict similar to being in a
desert. Therefore we talk about being on the
mountain top as thats when we are way
above every situation free from the pressures
of the valley.
It is in the valley that you must face the
challenges. It is in the valley that you must
confront and deal with people. The valley is
often the place we want to avoid because we
want to get to the mountain top. We get tired
of the valley experiences and therefore fail to
recognize that the valley is not our enemy.

Psalm 24:4 - Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your
staff, they comfort me.

When you are going through life andit feels
like everything is too much, know that the
enemy only brings a shadow of death. He
attacks you with a thought and idea that is
not real. A shadow is NOT the real thing!
It is in the valley that you can experience your
greatest victoriesI I want to share with you 7
valleys from the Bible that will hopefully help
you to know that you are an overcomer in the
valley.
1.The Valley of Siddim this is the valley
where the towns of Sodom and Gemorrah
was situated. Lot and his family decided to
settle in this place that was deep in sin and
perversion.
You think you can cope with being amongst
sinners , but beware, the lifestyle may soon
seem normal to you.

Lot was so overcome by the perversion that it
did not seem wrong for him to offer his
daughters to the men of the town so that they
could be sexually abused. What makes a man
do that? In the valley of sin you can overcome
as you recognize the leading of God and be
prepared to walk away. In the valley of sin
(Siddim) you can overcome!
2.The Valley of Eschol the promised land lie
in the valley of Eschol. The spies went into this
valley and brought back the wonderful fruit
and provision that was in the land. This was
the valley of decision.
You might be struggling to make decisions for
your life or business. But if God told you to do
something, dont look at the hurdles or giants.
Make a decision! In the valley of decision
(Eschol) you must not be confused or
uncertain!

between Jerusalem and the mount of Olives.
There is a cemetery there. Ever since the time
of Josiah, it has been a cemetery. Samson is
buried there. Samuel, I think, is buried there.
James is buried there. Absalom is buried
there. Many others are buried there in this
cemetery in the valley of Kidron. This is the
valley of suffering.
Perhaps you are feeling like the sun will never
rise. Right now you are suffering because of a
marital problem, drug abuse, continued
financial lack etc. Whatever it is, my God is
able to help you in the valley of suffering. He is
the bright and morning star. He gives you a
hope and a future.
4.The Valley of Elah It was in this valley that
David overcame the giant Goliath! God is in
the valley of battle (Elah). Whatever giants
you are facing, my God is able to help you,
make a way of escape for you, and give you
the ability to overcome in your time of battle!
5.The Valley of Achor - Achor is the valley of
punishment. Achor is the valley where Achan
was stoned to death. The Lord said, "Do not
take anything that is in Jericho." - Joshua 7
Sometimes you make a wrong decision for
your life which potentially affects all your
family. When you do, be open to Gods
discipline! Sometimes we need to be
chastened. God is in the valley of punishment
(Achor).

6.The Valley of Gehenna - "All the
references to gehenna, except James 3:6, are
from the lips of Christ himself, and there is an
obvious emphasis on the punishment for the
wicked after death as being everlasting. The
term gehenna is derived from the Valley of
Hinnom, traditionally considered by the Jews
the place of the final punishment of the
ungodly located just south of Jerusalem. The
valley was later declared to be 'the valley of
slaughter' by Jeremiah (Jer. 7:30-33). The
valley was used as a burial place for criminals
and for burning garbage. Gehenna was the
garbage dump of Jerusalem. There was a fire
going on there all the time.
This is the valley of death. We must all die
some day. But even when facing death, my
God is the valley of death. You dont have to
fear death. O death where is thy sting, O grave
where is thy victory!
7.The Valley of Jezreel - The plain of Megiddo
is part of the plain of Esdraelon (Jezreel
valley), which is known as the great battlefield
of Palestine. Many decisive battles, especially
in ancient times, have been fought in or near
this area.
The battle in the 15th century B.C. fought
between the army of Egypt's Pharaoh
Thutmose III and a coalition of Megiddo and
Kadesh rulers. Thutmose III was the likely
Pharaoh who was confronted by Moses and
Aaron demanding the children of Israel be set
free from slavery.
This is the same valley mention in Revelation
(Valley of Megiddo) where all the armies in
the will do battle. This is the valley of victory!
In this valley is where Jesus will return in glory
hallelujah!
Regardless of the valley that you are in, the
Lord is with you and you can experience
awesome victories in the valley

Remember this song;

Verse 1:
My God is awesome, He can move mountains
Keep me in the valley, hide me from the rain
My God is awesome, heals me when I'm
broken
Strength where I've been weakened, forever He
will reign
