I asked this to get an idea as to what my
audience want the main characters gender to
be, so I can incorporate it in my short film to
appeal to them. Out of all of the responses that I
got, 50% of the responses said that they wanted
a male main character, which was the most
popular choice. As well as this, 37.50% said they
wanted a female main character, and 12.50%
said other, saying that it depends on the plot.
From my results, I am going to make my main
character a male. The majority of the responses
for male were aged 13 17, my target audience,
so I will ensure that I focus on this. Males and
females seemed to mostly vote for their own
gender. As males are my main target audience, I
will ensure that the main character is a male, as I
want to appeal to them more than females.
I asked this to get an idea as to what my target
audience want the gender of the antagonist to
be, so I further appeal to them. From the
responses that I got, 50% of the responses
said that they wanted a male antagonist,
which was the most popular choice. As well as
this, 37.50% said they wanted a female
antagonist, and 12.50% said other, saying that
it depends on the film. From my results, I am
going to make my antagonist a male. The

13 17, my target audience, so I will ensure
that I focus on this. Similarly to the first
question, males and females seemed to

I asked this question to get an idea as to what
sort of things I should include and focus on in
my short film. 75% of the responses want an
interesting and an imaginative plot in a sci-fi
short film. As this was the most popular
response, I will make this the main focus. I will
also try and incorporate the other most popular
responses, being futuristic technology,
interesting characters, and plot twists, but this
will not be the main focus. The majority who
voted for an interesting/imaginative plot were
aged 13 17, who are my target audience, so I
will ensure that this is the focus. As well as this,
the majority of males voted for an
interesting/imaginative plot, so it is clear that
my target audience are most interested in this.
I asked this in order to get an idea as to
where I should set the short film. 75%
voted for modern world, and 25% voted
for other, saying it depends on the plot
and future. As modern world is the most
popular response, I will make this the
setting for the film. Similar to previous
questions, people aged 13 17 voted
mostly for the most popular choice,
modern world, so I will use this to appeal
to them. The majority of males also voted
for this, as well as the majority of females,
so using this will appeal to both genders.

I asked this to see if I should try and
include special effects in my short film.
75% said yes, and 25% said no. The
majority of people aged 13 17, as well
as the other age groups, said yes, so
including special effects will appeal to a
large age range. As well as this, the
majority of males and females voted for
this as well, most of them aged 13 17,
which is my target age group. Including
special effects will appeal to males and
females.
I asked this question to see if
people feel a high budget is
needed, in order to get an opinion
about whether or not I will need a
high budget to make a good short
film. The majority of my responses
said no, so I will not need a high
budget to make a good short film,
and appeal to my audience. The

I asked this question to get an idea as to
what sort of music I should include in my
sci-fi short film. Out of all of the
responses, suspense/tension, low
pitched, and fast paced were the most
popular choices. As these were the most
popular, I will try and incorporate these
types of music the most. The majority of
my target audience, males aged 13 17,
chose these options, so including these
will help my short film appeal to them.
I asked this to get an idea as to what
characteristics I should give my main
character. Every response said brave as one
of their choices, so I will ensure that this is
one of the protagonists most prominent
characteristics. As well as this, I will try to
give the main character elements of
charisma and slyness. As every respondent
wanted a brave character, including this will
appeal to my target audience, males aged 13
17, as well females. It will also help me
appeal to other age groups who responded.
