1. Sumilla:
Los seminarios histricos tienen como objetivo profundizar la formacin recibida en los
cursos histricos respectivos, para lo cual se centrar la atencin en el estudio de un tema
representativo, una obra fundamental o un autor clsico de la poca en cuestin.

Objetivo:
El objetivo del seminario es introducir a los alumnos a la obra que constituye el hito
principal en la produccin intelectual de Jrgen Habermas: Teora de la accin
comunicativa. Este libro, publicado en 1981, sistematiza las investigaciones realizadas por
el autor durante las dos dcadas anteriores y reformula los temas centrales de la filosofa y
las ciencias sociales. Esto se lleva a cabo articulando las ms diversas tradiciones tericas a
travs de la exploracin de la obra de autores a primera vista tan distantes como Max
Weber, Ludwig Wittgenstein, George H. Mead, Karl Marx, John Austin, entre muchos otros.
Se dedicar la mayor parte del seminario a presentar y discutir minuciosamente cada uno
de los captulos del libro. Durante las tres ltimas semanas se trabajar sobre la base de
los textos en que se desarrolla la tica del discurso, con el propsito de comprender el
trnsito desde una teora general de la racionalidad hacia una teora del discurso prctico,
ambos componentes esenciales de la ontologa social y de la teora moral y poltica
habermasianas.

2. Sistema de evaluacin:
La nota final del seminario se obtendr del promedio de tres notas parciales. La primera
corresponde a la participacin oral (en forma de exposiciones sobre los textos asignados,
de protocolos sobre lo discutido en clase y de los aportes a las discusiones). La segunda y
la tercera corresponden, respectivamente, a un avance de la monografa que deber ser
presentado hacia la mitad del semestre, y a la monografa misma, la cual se entregar al
concluir este.

30% Exposiciones, protocolos y participacin en clase
20% Avance de la monografa
50% Monografa sobre algn tema desarrollado en el seminario
