• A regular hexagon is a collection of 6
equilateral triangles.
Area of one equilateral triangle is :
• 1.732/4 * 2*2 = 1.732

A train leaves Bikaner at 8 am and
reaches Jodhpur at 12. Another
train leaves jodhpur at 10 am and
reaches Bikaner at 1.30. at what
time will these 2 trains meet?
• The time is 4 hours and 3.5 hours for 2 trains. Their LCM
is 14. Let us assume that the distance is 140 KM and
speeds are 35 & 40 respectively. Thus combined speed
is 75 km per hour.
• From 8 to 10 only one train is running – it will cover 70
Km. Now 70 Km are left. Combined speed is 75 km per
hour. Time will be : 70/75 = .933. convert it into seconds:
.933*60= 56 minutes.

 Area of equilateral triangle is
16 *3^1/2. what is its altitude?
• Simply divide area by 4 and get the
answer.
• = 4 *3^1/2 answer
• Or you may find its side first:
• Side = square root of ( area /.433)
• =(16*1.732)/.433 = square root of 64 = 8
• Now multiply 8 with 1.732/2 = 6.928

decrease each root of the following
equation by 2? Equation: x^2 -2x-
35 = 0
• Here solve this question as follows:
• (x+2)^2 – 2 (x+2) – 35 = 0
• X^2 +4x+4-2x-4-35 = 0
• X^2 +2x -35 = 0 answer.
• Alternatively, find out the roots first. The roots
are 7& -5. Now decrease these roots by 2 each.

food for 80 days. Some more
person joined after 20 days and
now food will last for 48 days. How
many persons are there now?
• 1600 * 60 (because 20 days have already been
spent) = 96000 units of food
• Unit of food = days * persons.
• Thus if days are given, persons can be found.
• 96000/48 = 2000.
• Thus now there are 2000 persons (400 new
persons arrived after 20 days).
