LASERCUT LAPTOP STAND
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
OBJECTIVE
Design a at-pack, lasercut MacBook Pro stand to be sold
on Etsy that increases ventilation, decreases operating heat
and noise, while remaining portable, afordable, and rigid
during use.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
LASERCUT LAPTOP STAND
After analyzing the reviews of these products, I determined
my design needed to meet the following criteria: cost
under $20 shipped, be easily transportable, feature rigid
construction, provide ample ventilation, pack at for delivery,
and prevent any harm to the device when in use.
After noticing a demand for a MacBook stand from myself
and my fellow classmates, I researched what was currently
available on the market. On average, Laptop Stands ranged
from $20 for a basic low-quality product, to $70 for a more
rigid high-quality product.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
Multiple iterations were generated to develop the nal
product. Diferent shapes and materials were tested until a
nal design was decided upon. Plywood was selected for
its lasercutting ability and low cost, while the design was
altered to prevent the stand from tipping over backwards.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
LASERCUT LAPTOP STAND
The 7 incline of the Lasercut Laptop Stand provides added
unobscured ventilation in times of high heat and heavy use.
Minimal contact points allow the heat-conducive aluminum
shell to cool, lowering the overall operating temperature.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
LASERCUT LAPTOP STAND
The packaging is lasercut, and doubles as a convenient
carrying case for the end user. Rigid yet lightweight, the
Lasercut Laptop Stand packaging remains extremely
afordable, shipping anywhere in the continental US for just
$1.30 via USPS First Class Mail.
Equally important as the design of the Laptop Stand was the
design of the accompanying packaging. Due to the lengthy
legs of the Laptop Stand, custom packaging was created to
accommodate the uncommon dimensions of the product,
while preventing any damage during shipping.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// PACKAGING /// DISTRIBUTION
The Lasercut Laptop Stand is currently available on Etsy,
eBay, and CodyTemplet.com for $15.00.

TOTAL REACH
The GTFan712 brand is known for high-quality videography
and photography, but I needed to establish an easily-
recognizable identity as professional as the work I put out.
Inspired by the combined GT logo of Georgia Tech, the
GTFan712 brand identity is recognizable on its own, while
remaining applicable for watermarking videos and photos.
RETAIL PARTNERSHIPS
My photograhpy and videography content has grown to
reach over 22,000 total followers, a few of which happen
to be major retail chains around the world. FinishLine and
Champs Sports, both major retailers in the United States,
have seeded me product to photograph and videograph
for their blogs, while size? (United Kingdom) and HypeDC
(Australia) have shared product with me as a thank you for
publicity and promotion.

SOLESPACE /// SHOEBOX STORAGE
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT
OBJECTIVE
Develop a conceptual system of shelving dedicated to the
storage of shoes in shoeboxes, specialized for both the
average consumer and dedicated collector, exploring an
untapped market.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT
SOLESPACE /// SHOEBOX STORAGE
Due to a lack of dedicated shelving for shoeboxes on the
market, collectors are left with no option but to stack boxes
on top of eachother or use alternative shelving methods,
leading to disorganzation and clutter (left). A new system
dedicated for storing shoes in shoeboxes would not only
benet the consumer and collector, but it could assist
retailers in organizing overcrowded stockrooms (above).

SOLESPACE /// SHOEBOX STORAGE
Holding each shoebox in position, bent metal rods hug
the inner contour of the aluminum sidepanels. Angled
contact points allow the rods to freely slide up and down to
accomodate diferent shoebox heights.
SOLESPACE is composed of two cold-rolled aluminum side
panels, which connect to two width-adjustable plastic end
caps using metal rods that run through the contour of the
side panels. This construction allows SOLESPACE to be
broken down for easy delivery and repositioning.
METAPHORS IN PADLOCK DESIGN
IDEATION /// RAPID PROTOTYPING
OBJECTIVE
Using design metaphors, redesign a handheld object that
communicates the process of use through two or more
visual cues.
IDEATION /// RAPID PROTOTYPING
METAPHORS IN PADLOCK DESIGN
Due to the relatively bland existing market, I chose to explore padlocks in an
attempt to bring a new twist to such a standardized product. The nal concept
used metaphors of association and suggestion, associating with the familiar
trigger-activated use of a gun, while suggesting the use of the trigger mechanism
with a pop of red, while the rest of the padlock remains desaturated.
IDEATION /// RAPID PROTOTYPING
After the conceptual design was nalized, an appearance
prototype was created to test the ergonomics of the design.
Using 15 lbs. foam, the design was shaped and given a
production-quality nish.
UNIVERSAL LADDER CARRYING HANDLE
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE
OBJECTIVE
Develop an innovative new method of transporting ladders
in either a consumer or commercial environment for Werner
and Weather Guard.
UNIVERSAL LADDER CARRYING HANDLE
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE
Our research began observing service vehicles with
ladder racks, where we noticed many issues regarding
securing methods and ladder rack padding, which were
often resolved using homemade remedies. Cardboard was
used to pad the ladder racks to limit vibrations, while spare
conduit was often used to secure ladders to racks.
On a smaller scale, we observed issues when carrying
ladders from place to place, in both commercial and
consumer settings. The u-shape construction of most
berglass step ladders became extremely uncomfortable
when carrying a ladder for extended periods of time.
UNIVERSAL LADDER CARRYING HANDLE
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE
Eight concepts were prepared for the client to choose from,
each of which addressing a diferent issue or opportunity.
Golf Carts were explored as intermediate vehicles for school
campuses or apartment complexes, while accessories to
improve upon current technologies were also presented.
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE
After presenting each of the concepts to Werner, they chose
the removable, universal carrying handle. This concept
assists users, both consumer and commercial, in transporting
ladders by removing the hand from the sharp u-frame.
UNIVERSAL LADDER CARRYING HANDLE
MARKET RESEARCH /// IDEATION /// FINAL CONCEPT /// FUNCTIONAL PROTOTYPE
The functional prototype was composed of layered cordura
nylon straps, with a two-piece 3D printed handle. In addition
to the added comfort provided by the Universal Ladder
Carrying Handle, the grip is free to move about the straps,
allowing the user to quickly and accurately locate the center
of gravity by simply lifting the ladder.
