Toxic Chemical Release – In the event of a toxic chemical release, employees will manually trigger the alarm
system, as a means of alerting the entire workforce. The sounding of the alarm or other warning via radio will
signal the entire building to be evacuated to their designated rally point. The Fire Department will be notified
immediately.
Tornadoes\Severe Weather – Whenever the potential for severe weather exists, the National Weather Service
will be monitored via radio in the front office area. The management team will be kept apprised of the
changing weather conditions as they develop. Whenever a Tornado Warning is issued for this facility, the
employees will be directed to the designated Safe areas. These Safe areas are the interior bathrooms located in
the front of the building, Receiving and Shipping work areas.
Blizzard\Flood – Whenever the potential for a blizzard exists, the National Weather Service will be monitored
via radio in the front office area. The management team will be kept apprised of the changing weather
conditions as they develop. Appropriate steps will be taken to insure the safety of the employees as
recommended by the National Weather Service.
Terrorism – Any acts of terrorism or other forms of violent acts will be handled by law enforcement agencies.
Employees will notify the Police (Dial 911) whenever such an act occurs. Appropriate measures will be taken
based on the advice of law enforcement. In some cases a building evacuation will be necessary while others
might dictate a move to the building safe areas.
Emergency Escape Route Assignments
Front Office – The primary emergency escape route for employees working in the front office area during an
evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 1. The secondary emergency escape route for employees working in the front
office area during an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 12.
Fast Pick – The primary emergency escape route for employees working in the Fast Pick area during an evacuation is
Emergency Escape Route 12. The secondary emergency escape route for employees working in the Fast Pick area
during an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 11.
Battery Charging – The primary emergency escape route for employees working in the battery charging area during
an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 3. The secondary emergency escape route for employees working in the
battery charging area during an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 5.
Maintenance cage – The primary emergency escape route for employees working in the maintenance cage during an
evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 5. The secondary emergency escape route for employees working in the
maintenance cage area during an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 6
Pre-Pack – The primary emergency escape route for employees working in the Pre-Pack work area during an
evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 5. The secondary emergency escape route for employees working in the
Pre-Pack work area during an evacuation is Emergency Escape Route 6.
Maintenance Responsibilities
A Maintenance employee will conduct a visual inspection of the Fire Protection system valves located outside
the building in the parking lot (16 total) to insure their functionality. All valves will be in the Open position to
guard against the possibility of a willful disabling of the system.
Emergency Reporting
The management team - Will insures that the proper Emergency services are notified of the nature of the
Emergency.
Training
Employees – All employees will receive training consisting of a review of this Emergency Action Plan. *Each
Team Leader and supervisor will be trained to assist in a safe and orderly Emergency Evacuation of employees.
This training will be documented on the TMSi Employee Training sheet EEP-001. The sheets will be
maintained on record with the Safety supervisor.
