INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP THE PBAS PROFORMA

CATEGORY I: TEACHING, LEARNING & EVALUATION RELATED ACTIVITIES
Maximum Scores Allocated : 125 Minimum Score Required: 75

score should be assigned if a teacher has taken less than 80% of the assigned classes. University may
give allowance for periods of leave where alternative teaching arrangements have been made.

score to be given.

Chairperson, IQAC Coordinator (10 points each, subject to max. of 10 points)

2.3 Participation in committees concerned with any aspect of departmental or institutional management
such as admission committee, campus development, library committee (5 points each : Max. 10
points)

2.4 Responsibility for, or participation in committees for Students Welfare,
Counseling and Discipline ( 5 points each : Max. 10 points)

API scoring will be progressively rolled out for categories 1 & II, beginning with assessment of one
year for selection committees in 2012-13, annual average of two years in 2013-14; 3 years in 2014-15 and
so on. For Category- III, however, scores will be computed for the entire assessment period.

Note 1: If there are more than one author of Research paper in Category (A); the
points will be shared as follows:
Up to three authors: Points will be shared equally.
More than three authors; the first/Principal author and the corresponding
author/supervisor/mentor of the teacher would share equally 60% of the total
points and the remaining 40% would be shared equally.
Note 2: The API score for paper in refereed journal would be augmented as follows: (i)
indexed journals by 5 points (ii) paper with impact factor below 1 (5 Points); (iii)
papers with impact factor between 1 and 2 (10 points); (iv) papers with impact factor
between 2 and 5 (15 points); (v) papers with impact factor between 5 and 10 (25
points).
Note 3: The research papers published in reputed Journals identified by the University
will be given 15 Points and other publication will be given 10 points.*

(i) University may maintain a Central pool containing Lists of Journals on the basis of
recommendation of Academic Committees of all the teaching departments & place it on the
University web-site; and
(ii) The claim of an applicant with regard to Refereed journal, if not explicitly mentioned in the
journal, will be considered, if he/she attaches a proof in this regard from the Editor along with
his initial application.
