Internship Description:
Legal Aid Society provides civil legal services as well as criminal defense
work, and juvenile rights representation in Family Court. They provide free
legal assistance to New Yorkers who live at or below the poverty level and
cannot afford to hire a lawyer when confronted with a legal problem

As an intern you will work closely with criminal and civil attorneys. Interns
will get to be involved in internship-long projects, visit the courts, assist in
clerical work and get an inside perspective on being a defense lawyer.

required to attend mandatory sessions before, during, and after their
internship. Stipend payment will be dependant on your attendance and may be
