CENTRAL NEGOTIATING COUNCIL MEETING

Central Negotiating Council meeting was held on the 21
st
of December, 2013 at
the Corporate Centre, Mumbai, to discuss the various agenda items on HR and
IR issues. The DMD & CDO Dr.J.N.Mishra, Shri.Ranjit Goswami, the CGM (HR),
Shri. J.Raghava, DGM (IR) along with the entire HR department and the DGM
& CDOs from all the Circles represented the Management. Com.B.K.Awasthi,
the President, Com.Y.Sudarshan the General Secretary along with all the
Presidents and General Secretaries of the Circles represented the AISBOF.

2. Various agenda items in respect of issues affecting the officers
community at large, monetary issues, improvements in the various facilities
existing as well as proposed, Industrial relations atmosphere in the Bank,
difficulties faced by the officers community, transfer policy, promotion policy,
pending disciplinary matters etc., were discussed at length with an intention to
arrive at a solution.

3. The Management responded very positively on all the issues and it was
mutually agreed to move forward in an atmosphere of cordial Industrial
relations and mutual trust. We also requested that the positive atmosphere be
reflected at the circle levels also so that our circle affiliates can sort out the
issues at the circles.

4. We appreciated the Management concerns in respect of improving
productivity, enhancing the Business per employee, profits per employee, need
to reduce the NPAs, ensuring time discipline, maintaining cordial relationship
with the newly recruited staff, concern over growing incidents of sexual
harassment, etc. As these issues are also issues of our concern there is an
urgent need to tackle these on a priority basis and ensure that Bank Scales
greater heights of glory through achievement of business targets and reduction
of NPAs.

5. The Federation has always been Partners in Progress with the Bank. Our
officers have always played a very important role in transferring bank from a
manual set up to a fully computerized platform and implementation of various
other initiatives like BPR, expanding ATMs network, Branch expansion etc.,

6. Let us therefore take the challenges faced by the Bank as our challenges,
rise up to the occasion, to book quality advances, enhancement of business at
all segments, and to ensure that all the parameters in respect of Business per
employee, profit per employee etc., not only match, but surpass other
competitors in the field. SBI has always remained pioneers. Let us remain
pioneers and march ahead beating competition. We earnestly appeal to all of
you to individually rise up to the occasion.

1. At the same time the officers are also facing constraints. There is a
severe shortage of staff and the officers are under extreme pressure to
perform and achieve budgets. The priorities keep changing on a day to day
basis , amidst multiple instructions from multiple bosses . Therefore there is an
urgent need to have relook at the working our system and ensure healthy and
better quality of life of our officers.

8. Therefore, it shall be our earnest desire to sort out all the pending IR/HR
issues that are irritants to cordial relationship and to create a congenial work
environment for all our officers. We are in constant touch with the
Management and the HR department and as they have been very positive in
responding.

9. In the mean while we shall keep you informed of all our future efforts
and further developments in this regard.
