Discipline Procedure: A. POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES 1. Praise for the student 2. Special Privileges a. I do not treat all students the same. I treat students how they deserve to be treated. I do have favorites, they are those students who come to class everyday prepared, do what they are asked to do, and keep a positive attitude. I do pride myself on being as fair as possible and being consistent in punishment regardless of who the student is. Thats not fair is one of the sayings that gets under my skin, as students love to use that saying when fair is referring to the fact that they did not get their way or they were told no. 3. Good Grades 4. A Great Education B. NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES 1. Verbal or written warning (Simply asking for the behavior to stop; or calling out the name) 2. Student-Teacher conference (may ask student to stay after class) 3. Parent-Teacher conference (usually a telephone call at first, then later a request to come to school) 5. Referral to appropriate house principal. As a general rule, I operate by a 3 strikes your out policy. I document issues and the third time your name appears in my documentation, I will give a referral. SEVERE CLAUSE Students and parents should be aware that major disruptions or infractions will result in the student being sent to the appropriate principal without regard to the outlined discipline plan.
