We understand that the Vocal Ensemble traditionally has a Concert Tour during the school year. This
will be over several days and the costs are a commitment from the family of the singer. Fundraising
events will be held, but there is no free ride. !

Participation in the FUHS Choral Music Program is a privilege.
Every member is expected to participate in all rehearsals, performances, and extra events with a
positive energetic attitude.
Since many groups are small ensembles, everyone must be committed to the betterment of the
ensemble in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Performing Outfits cost money, and direct contributions and/or fundraising participation is
necessary in order to provide them.
Students are expected to maintain strong academic grades and attendance in order to remain
eligible for performances.
Respect towards all of the students and the instructor is required at all times.
Students are expected to practice and have ownership of their music.
Families are needed to participate in the Choral Booster Club support activities
There are costs involved in these classes, they cannot exist without them and there are not
sufficient funds provided by the state, district, or school site to come even close to
covering them. Donations will be accepted, Fundraising opportunities will be provided,
and at times you need to pay for the extras you receive

(20) TONAL MEMORY: Sing a capella the patterns that are played for you. The patterns are
played twice, then you sing it back using Dah, dah, dah for each note. Four examples
with Five notes in each one.

(40) SOLO PERFORMANCE: Sing Happy Birthday a capella and in the best key for your
voice.
Use a well supported, open and free vocal tone, with tall vowels and a sense of warmth in
your voice. Think Opera.
Do not sing in a pop styleno scoops, sliding between notes, or bending of pitches or
vowels.
