Rules and Regulations (The Rules) for the Your Unforgettable Backyard

Experience (The Contest) Draw 2014

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF
WINNING.
The following promotion is intended for viewing and participation in Canada only and will be construed
according to Canadian law and the laws of British Columbia. Please do not enter if you are not a legal
resident of Canada and are not 19 years of age or older.
The Sponsor of the Contest (the Contest Sponsors, Sponsor(s) or Contest Group) include but are not
limited to: The Vernon Visitor Centre and Tourism Vernon; tourism businesses in Vernon and area.
1. CONTEST PERIOD Starts approximately August 1, 2014 and ends September 26, 2014 at 11:59:59 PDT
(the Contest Period) after which time no further entries will be accepted.
2. HOW TO ENTER To participate and enter the Contest, visit www.facebook.com/TourismVernon during
the Contest Period, click on the Contest tab, complete the online entry form in full, including your first
name, last name, and email address, Like and Share Tourism Vernon on Facebook, confirm that you
have read and agreed to be bound by the Official Contest rules (the Rules) and submit your entry online.
There is a limit of one (1) online Contest entry per individual and per email address, during the Contest
Period. Entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means are
prohibited and will be disqualified.
Although online access and an email account are required in order to participate in the Contest, no purchase
is required: many public libraries, internet cafes, retail businesses and communities offer access to the
internet and numerous internet providers offer free email accounts.
No responsibility is assumed by the Contest Sponsor(s) for any inability for a potential entrant to
successfully enter the Contest for any reason. The Contest Group is not responsible for late, lost, damaged,
misdirected, illegible or incomplete entries.
3. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION Except as outlined in Section 8 Release, the personal information
gathered about entrants in the course of this Contest will be used solely by Contest Sponsor Vernon Visitor
Centre for the administration of the Contest and will be used by the Contest Group in connection with any
publicity relating to the Contest.
4. ELIGIBILITY Entrants must be legal Canadian residents (including residents of Quebec) who are over
the age of 19 or the age of majority in their province, whichever is greater, as of August 1, 2014. Employees
of Sponsor(s), its affiliates, marketing partners, suppliers, advertising or promotional agencies, and the
immediate family members (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse) of, or persons residing
in the same household as, such persons are not eligible. All federal, provincial and local laws and regulations
apply. Participation in the Contest constitutes contestants full and unconditional agreement to and
acceptance of these official Rules. Participants who do not comply with these rules are subject to
disqualification.
5. CONTEST PRIZES The prize will consist of. No cash value and gift certificates cannot be redeemed for
cash.
All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein, including, without limitation, transportation to and
from Vernon from winners point of origin, ground transportation in the area, other meals, gratuities, travel
documents, telephone calls, in-room expenses, room service, gratuities, medical and travel insurance,
optional tours, parking fees, all personal expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner and his/her
guests. Prize components must be used in conjunction with and as a complete prize package and cannot be
substituted, transferred, refunded or exchanged except at the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest
Sponsor(s). All Prizes including accommodations and reservations subject to availability, blackout periods,
government restrictions and regulations, hotel or transportation restrictions and regulations. Other
restrictions may apply. Winner and his/her guests are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel
documentation, travel insurance and any other required documentation for travel. The Contest Sponsor(s)
are not liable if travel is impeded or refused by reason of decisions of government authorities, or other
airline or airport authorities. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian at all times.
No responsibility is assumed by the Contest Sponsor(s) for a Prize(s) being cancelled, delayed, suspended or
rescheduled after ticketing of the prize packages for any reason whatsoever. If, for any reason, one or more
Prize(s) do not occur (or element of a Prize, if applicable), the Contest sponsor(s) reserve the right, at their
sole and absolute discretion, to award a substitute prize of equal or greater value.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, cannot be substituted, transferred, exchanged or surrendered for cash,
in whole or in part. The above prize descriptions constitute the expected components of the prizes; all
aspects thereof are subject to availability and subject to change. Some additional restrictions may apply.
Winner will be provided with additional details at or before time of travel.
6. SELECTION OF WINNERS Starting on or about August 8, 2014 in Vernon, British Columbia, one (1)
entry will be randomly drawn from eligible entries for a prize package every week until the end of the
Contest Period. Non-winning entries will be moved to the following weeks entries for another chance to win
every week until the end of the Contest Period. The odds of your entry being drawn depend on the total
number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The Sponsor(s) or its representatives will
attempt to contact the selected entrant by phone or email once per day for five (5) business days. If any
selected entrant cannot be contacted after five (5) business days, or is contacted but is deemed to be
ineligible in the Sponsors sole discretion, or unable or unwilling to comply with the rules, that selected
entrant will be disqualified and another name will be drawn. This process may be repeated until one (1)
entrant has been declared a winner for each prize package.
Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any
kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered
by telephone at the time mutually convenient for the entrant and Sponsor(s) or promotional agent of the
Sponsor(s).
7. RELEASE By pressing Submit on the electronic entry form, you are confirming compliance with the
Contest Rules and acceptance of prizes as offered; releasing Contest Sponsor(s), its agents and the prize
suppliers in respect to injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to The Contest or the awarding or use of
the prize; and except where prohibited, acknowledging the Sponsors and it agents, subsidiaries or
affiliates right to publish or broadcast the winners picture, name, address, voices, statements without
further compensation other than the prize offered. By entering the contest, the winner and traveling
companions automatically agree to release all liability and publicity to Tourism Vernon prior to travel. In
addition, the winner and their guest(s) must each complete, sign and return a Contest Sponsor(s) waiver
prior to receiving their prize package.
8. ERRORS, ETC. The Sponsor(s) are not responsible for (i) entries which are late, incomplete, illegible,
damaged, destroyed or misdirected; (ii) telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer
hardware or software failures of any kind; (iii) incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer
transmission on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any
combination thereof; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond its control which disrupts or interferes with
The Contest ; or (v) any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of participants participation in The
Contest or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including without limitation any injury or damage
to participants or any other persons computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any
materials in The Contest.
The Sponsor(s) extends absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of the Contest. If, for any
reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness,
integrity, or proper conduct of The Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of
infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any
other causes beyond its control, the Sponsor(s) reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend
the electronic portion of The Contest, including any method of entry, and randomly select the winner from
previously received entries.
The Sponsor(s) reserves the right to amend the terms of The Contest without prior notice if any factor
interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules.
9. MISCELLANEOUS Prize is not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions,
whether in cash or otherwise, except at the Sponsors sole discretion. The Sponsor(s) reserves the right to
substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason.
Prize will only be awarded to verified winner. All decisions of the Sponsor(s) or their authorized
representatives are final and binding in all matters relating to The Contest. In the event of a dispute
regarding the identity of a person submitting an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted
by the person whose name is supplied on the contest form at www.facebook.com/TourismVernon.
