Watch List
A Watch list is a list of exceptions or records returned from an automated query. Traditionally, end
users manually pull these records using Query By Example within an EnterpriseOne inquiry
application. Instead, a Watch list automatically runs a pre-defined query and pushes the list of
exceptions or records to the end user. For simplicity, the watch list is summarized into a single value
(usually a count or sum) so the end user can quickly see if anything needs to be done.
Similar to a workflow alert, a watch list enables management by exception and can be thought of as a
modern-day inbox.
In essence, if a question can be answered with a single value, a watch list can be defined for it. For
example, do I have any backorders?
The three watch lists below answer three basic questions from the same data source sales orders.

From a navigation standpoint, a watch list is comprised of three components:
Watch list box/metric Displays the count or sum from the watch list query.

Preview Grid When the Watch list box is clicked, a preview of the exceptions or records is
shown.

Action link(s) Drillable links associated with the previewed records.
