One day a Romulus resident stopped by
the Chamber Office. He asked a simple
question: Exactly what does the Cham-
ber do?
The stock answer would be: The Cham-
ber is an organization that exists primarily
to represent and promote the interests of
its member businesses working to de-
velop and deepen local relationship net-
works to promote business activity and
business-to-business exchanges. All
true but it only tells a part of the story.
The Romulus Chamber is actively in-
volved in the community. For example:
The Chamber gave $1,000 financial sup-
port to the City of Romulus Sounds of
Downtown concert series. This dona-
tion, along with a matching amount from
Public Service Credit Union (a member of
the Romulus Chamber of Commerce)
made it possible for the citizens of Romu-
lus to enjoy a series of five free concerts
during the summer months.
The Chamber also took part in an exciting
program, offered by the Detroit Institute of
Arts. For three months, Alexander the
Great was on display on the outside wall
of the Chamber building.
The DIA Inside/Out program brought re-
productions of great treasures from the
museum to the community. Ten beautiful
paintings in Romulusit was a fun expe-
rience for all!
The Chamber is a big supporter of the
Romulus Library. Along with financial
support for various projects, the Chamber
loves a good fundraiser!
In June the Chamber and the Friends of
the Library teamed up for an evening of
Wine Tasting and Fellowship!

We were able to raise over $300 for the Library. It was also decided that something this good needs to be
repeated! So watch for "Wine Tasting 2" that will take place in January or February of 2015. Its a great
way to support the Romulus Public Library!
The Chamber is also playing an active role in support of the Romulus Progressive Club (another member of
the Chamber). This past year the Pro-
gressive Club has hosted two fundrais-
ing concerts. The Chamber was there!
Remember the tribute concert to Ray
Charles, Tobey Keith and The Blues
Brothers? And we cant forget the
King! The Chamber is helping support
and raise needed funds to keep our
beloved Progressive Club open. Need
tickets for the Tribute to the King con-
cert on August 9th? You can purchase
them at the Chamber Office.
The Greater Romulus Chamber of Commerce believes in community. If something exciting, positive and
good is happening in Romulus chances are the Greater Romulus Chamber of Commerce is nearby!
