Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

‫ص‬
1. Sad:

١ ِ ْ‫ن ذِي ا آ‬

ِ ُْْ ‫وَا‬
by the Qur'án, full of Admonition: (this is the Truth).

٢ ‫ق‬
ٍ َِ!‫ ٍة َو‬# ِ$ ِ ‫ آََُوا‬
َ ِ ‫َ ِ ا‬
2. But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in Self-glory and Separatism.

‫ن‬
ٍ َْ& ' (ِ)ِ*ْ+َ& ِ' َ,ْ-َ*ْ‫آَ(ْ َأه‬
3. How many generations before them did We destroy?

٣ ‫ص‬
ٍ َ,َ' 
َ 0ِ1 ‫ت‬
َ َ ‫َ َدوْا َو‬,َ
In the end they cried (for mercy) -- when there was no longer time for being saved!

ْ(ُ)ْ,' ٌ‫ ِر‬,7' (ُ‫َ ءه‬9 ‫ا أَن‬:ُ+ِ;َ$‫َو‬

4. So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves!

٤ ٌ‫ٌِ آَاب‬1 َ= ‫ن هََا‬

َ ‫َ ُِو‬-ْ ‫َو&َ َل ا‬
And the Unbelievers say,
"This is a sorcerer telling lies!

‫ًا‬Aِ1‫ ِإ َ)ً وَا‬Cَ َ)ِ Dْ ‫َ َ ا‬Eَ9‫َأ‬

5. "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah?

٥ ٌ‫ُ;َ ب‬$ ٌ‫َْء‬Fَ ‫ن هََا‬

 ‫ِإ‬
Truly this is a wonderful thing!"

ْ(ُ-ِHَ)ِ  Iَ*َ$ ‫ُِوا‬+ْJ‫ا وَا‬:ُFْ'‫ن ا‬

ِ ‫ْ)ُ(ْ َأ‬,ِ' ُKَ*َLْ ‫ ا‬M
َ َ*َN‫وَاﻥ‬
6. And the leaders among them go away (impatiently), (saying),
"Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods!

٦ ‫َْءٌ َُا ُد‬Fَ ‫ن هََا‬

 ‫ِإ‬
For this is truly a thing designed (against you)!
 ‫ِ َ ِة‬QDْ ‫ ا‬Cِ *ِLْ ‫َ ِ)ََا ِ ا‬,ْEِLَ= َ'
7. "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days:

٧ ٌ‫ِ*َ ق‬HْQ‫ِإنْ هََا ِإ  ا‬

this is nothing but a made-up tale!

َ,ِ,ْ0َ ِ' ُ ْ‫ ا آ‬Sِ ْ0َ*َ$ ‫ َل‬#ِ ‫َأأُﻥ‬

8. "What! Has the Message been sent to him -- (of all persons) among us?"...

‫ ' ِذآِْي‬U
T َ! ِ ْ(ُ‫َْ ه‬
But they are in doubt concerning My (own) Message!

٨ ‫ب‬
ِ ‫ََا‬$ ‫ا‬:ُ&‫ َُو‬Lَ َْ
Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment!

َ ‫ َر‬Cِ َLْ1‫ َر‬
ُ ِW‫َا‬#َQ ْ(ُ‫ه‬Aَ ,ِ$ ْ‫َأم‬
9. Or have they the Treasures of the Mercy of thy Lord --

٩ ‫ب‬
ِ ‫ه‬:َ ْ ‫ ا‬#ِ ِ#َEْ ‫ا‬
the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure!

َLُ)َ,ْ0َ َ'‫ض َو‬

ِ ْ‫َر‬Kْ ‫ت وَا‬
ِ ‫َ وَا‬L[ ‫ ا‬U
ُ ْ*7' (ُ)َ ْ‫َأم‬
10. Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between?

١٠ ‫ب‬
ِ َ+ْ=َKْ ‫ا ِ ا‬:َُ‫َْﺕ‬0ْ*َ
If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)!

١١ ‫ب‬
ِ ‫َا‬#ْ1َKْ ‫ ا‬
َ ' ٌ‫ُوم‬#ْ)َ' U
َ ِ َ,ُ‫ٌ ' ه‬A,ُ9
11. But there -- will be put to flight even a host of confederates.

١٢ ‫َوْﺕَ ِد‬Kْ ‫ن ذُو ا‬

ُ ْ:َ$ِْ‫َ دٌ َو‬$‫ح َو‬
ٍ :ُ‫ْ ُم ﻥ‬:َ& ْ(ُ)َ*ْ+َ& ْ^َ َ‫آ‬
12. Before them (were many who) rejected messengers --
the People of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh the Lord of Stakes.

Cِ َ-ْ`َ ‫ب ا‬
ُ َaْJ‫طٍ َوَأ‬:ُ ‫ْ ُم‬:َ&‫ ُد َو‬:ُLَc‫َو‬
13. And Thamud, and the People of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood;

١٣ ‫ب‬
ُ ‫َا‬#ْ1َKْ ‫ ا‬U
َ ِdَ ْ‫ُأو‬
such were the Confederates.

١٤ ‫ب‬
ِ َِ$ M
 َaَ َ ُ=7 ‫ب ا‬
َ  َ‫ ِإ  آ‬e ُ‫إِن آ‬
14. Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My Punishment came justly and inevitably
(on them).

ٍ ‫َا‬:َ ِ' َ)َ ' ‫ ًة‬Aَ ِ1‫ وَا‬Cً َaْ0َJ  ‫ َ ء ِإ‬fُ َ‫ُ ُ ه‬g,َ َ'‫َو‬
15. These (to-day) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay.

١٦ ‫ب‬
ِ َ[ِaْ ‫ْ ِم ا‬:َ َ ْ+َ& َ,Nِ& َ, ;َ$ َ,َ‫ا ر‬:ُ َ&‫َو‬
16. They say:
"Our Lord! Hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!"

Aِ َْKْ ‫ﻥَ دَاوُو َد ذَا ا‬Aَ ْ+َ$ ُْ‫ن وَاذْآ‬

َ :ُ :َُ َ' Iَ*َ$ ِْ+ْJ‫ا‬
17. Have patience at what they say, and remember Our Servant David, the man of strength:

١٧ ٌ‫ َأواب‬Sُ ‫ِإﻥ‬

for he ever turned (to Allah).

‫َ َل‬+ِ;ْ ‫ْﻥَ ا‬hَ= ‫ِإﻥ‬

18. It was We that made the hills declare,

١٨ ‫ق‬
ِ ‫!َْا‬iِ ْ ‫ وَا‬
 ِFَEْ ِ 
َ ْa+َ[ُ Sُ َEَ'
in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day.

‫ َر ًة‬:ُFْaَ' َ ْ0N ‫وَا‬

19. And the birds gathered (in assemblies):

ِ ١٩ ٌ‫ َأواب‬Sُ  e ُ‫آ‬

all with him did turn (to Allah).

٢٠ ‫ب‬
ِ َNِhْ ‫ْ َ ا‬jَ‫ َو‬Cَ َLْ-ِaْ ‫ ا‬kُ َ,ْ0َ‫ وَﺕ‬Sُ َ-ْ*ُ' َ‫دْﻥ‬Aَ َ!‫َو‬
20. We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgement in speech and
decision.

٢١ ‫ب‬
َ ‫َْا‬aِLْ ‫رُوا ا‬: َ[َ‫ْ ِ( ِإذْ ﺕ‬jَhْ ‫ُ ا‬Kَ+َ‫ك ﻥ‬
َ َ‫َوهَْ َأﺕ‬
21. Has the Story of the Disputants reached thee?
Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber;

ْ(ُ)ْ,ِ' ‫ع‬
َ #ِ ََ ‫ دَاوُو َد‬Iَ*َ$ ‫ا‬:ُ*َQ‫ِإذْ َد‬
22. When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them,

ْnَhَ‫ا َ ﺕ‬:ُ َ&

they said:
"Fear not:

o
ٍ ْEَ Iَ*َ$ َ,ُpْEَ Iَqَ ‫ن‬
ِ َLْjَQ
We are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other:

 َaْ ِ َ,َ,ْ0َ (ُ-ْ1 َ
decide now between us with truth,

٢٢ ِ‫َاط‬j ‫َاء ا‬:َ= Iَ ‫ﻥَ ِإ‬Aِ ْ‫ْ وَاه‬rِNْFُ‫َو َ ﺕ‬

and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path.

ٌ‫ة‬Aَ ِ1‫ٌ وَا‬Cَ;ْEَ‫ ﻥ‬

َ ِ ‫ َو‬Cً َ;ْEَ‫ن ﻥ‬
َ :ُEْ[ِ‫ٌ َوﺕ‬sْ[ِ‫ ﺕ‬Sُ َ ِQ‫ن هََا َأ‬
 ‫ِإ‬
23. "This man is my brother;
he has nine and ninety ewes, and I have (but) one:

٢٣ ‫ب‬
ِ َNِhْ ‫ﻥِ ِ ا‬# َ$‫)َ َو‬0ِ,ْ*ِْ‫ََ َل َأآ‬
Yet he says, 'Commit her to my care,' and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech."

Sِ ِ9 َEِ‫ ﻥ‬Iَ ‫ ِإ‬U

َ ِHَ;ْEَ‫َا ِل ﻥ‬fُ[ِ U
َ َLَ*َt ْAََ ‫&َ َل‬
24. (David) said:
"He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of)
ewes:

ٍ ْEَ Iَ*َ$ ْ(ُ)ُpْEَ ِqْ+َ0َ ‫َ ء‬Nَ*ُhْ ‫ًا 'ْ ا‬0ِuَ‫ن آ‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
truly many are the Partners (in business) who wrong each other:

ْ(ُ‫ٌ ' ه‬0ِ*َ&‫ت َو‬

ِ َaِ j ‫ا ا‬:ُ*ِLَ$‫ا َو‬:ُ,َ' 
َ ِ ‫ِإ  ا‬
not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...

kُ ,َHَ َL‫ دَاوُو ُد َأﻥ‬

 َt‫َو‬
And David gathered that We had tried him:

٢٤ ‫ب‬
َ َ‫ً َوَأﻥ‬Eِ‫َ  رَاآ‬Q‫ َو‬Sُ ‫َْ َ َر‬qَHْ= َ
he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in
repentance).

U
َ ِ ‫ َذ‬Sُ َ َ‫ََْﻥ‬qَ
25. So We forgave him this (lapse):

٢٥ ‫ب‬
ٍ Dَ' 
َ ْ[ُ1‫ َو‬Iَْ #ُ َ َ‫ﻥ‬Aَ ,ِ$ Sُ َ ‫ن‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful place of (final) Return.

‫ض‬
ِ ْ‫َر‬Kْ ‫ ِ ا‬Cً َ0ِ*َQ ‫ك‬
َ َ,ْ*َEَ9 ‫َ دَاوُو ُد ِإﻥ‬
26. O David!
We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth:

 َaْ ِ ‫س‬
ِ , ‫ ا‬
َ ْ0َ (ُ-ْ1 َ
so judge thou between men in truth (and justice):

 Sِ * ‫ ِ ا‬0ِ+َ= َ$ U
َ *ِpُ0َ ‫َى‬:َ)ْ ‫ ا‬sِ ِ+Hَ‫َو َ ﺕ‬
nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah:

ٌAِAَ! ٌ‫ََاب‬$ ْ(ُ)َ Sِ * ‫ ِ ا‬0ِ+َ= َ$ ‫ن‬

َ :7*ِpَ 
َ ِ ‫ن ا‬
 ‫ِإ‬
for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous,

٢٦ ‫ب‬
ِ َ[ِaْ ‫ْ َم ا‬:َ ‫ا‬:ُ[َ‫َ ﻥ‬Lِ
for that they forget the Day of Account.

ً*ِx َ َLُ)َ,ْ0َ َ'‫ض َو‬

َ ْ‫َر‬Kْ ‫َ ء وَا‬L[ ‫َ ا‬,َْ*َQ َ'‫َو‬
27. Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between!

‫ آََُوا‬
َ ِ ‫ ا‬
7 َt U
َ ِ ‫َذ‬
That were the thought of Unbelievers!

٢٧ ‫ ِر‬, ‫ ا‬
َ ِ' ‫ آََُوا‬
َ ِ* ٌْ:َ َ
But woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!

‫ض‬
ِ ْ‫َر‬Kْ ‫ ِ ا‬
َ ِAِ[ُْLْ َ‫ت آ‬
ِ َaِ j ‫ا ا‬:ُ*ِLَ$‫ا َو‬:ُ,َ' 
َ ِ ‫َ ُ ا‬Eْ;َ‫َأمْ ﻥ‬
28. Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do
mischief on earth?

٢٨ ‫ آَ ُْ; ِر‬

َ 0ِHُLْ ‫َ ُ ا‬Eْ;َ‫َأمْ ﻥ‬
Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right?

ٌ‫َ َرك‬+ُ' U
َ ْ0َ ‫ ِإ‬kُ َ,ْ #َ ‫َ بٌ أَﻥ‬Hِ‫آ‬
29. (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings,

٢٩ ‫ب‬
ِ َ+ْ َKْ ‫ا ا‬:ُ ْ‫َ َآ َ ُأو‬Hَ0ِ ‫ َو‬Sِ ِ‫ُوا َ ﺕ‬A َ0
that they may meditate on its Signs,
and that men of understanding may receive admonition.

‫ن‬
َ َLْ0َ*ُ= ‫َاوُو َد‬Aِ َ,ْ+َ‫َو َوه‬
30. To David We gave Solomon (for a son) --

Aُ ْ+َEْ ‫ْ َ( ا‬Eِ‫ﻥ‬
how excellent in Our service!

٣٠ ٌ‫ َأواب‬Sُ ‫ِإﻥ‬

Ever did he turn (to Us)!

٣١ ‫َ ُد‬0ِ;ْ ‫ت ا‬
ُ َ,ِ j ‫ ا‬
 ِFَEْ ِ Sِ ْ0َ*َ$ ‫ض‬
َ ِ ُ$ ْ‫ِإذ‬
31. Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide, coursers of the highest breeding; and
swift of foot;

 ‫َ ِذآْ ِ َر‬$ ِ ْ0َhْ ‫ ا‬y
 ُ1 ^
ُ ْ+َ+ْ1‫ََ لَ ِإﻥ َأ‬
32. And he said, "Truly do I love the love of Good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"

٣٢ ‫ب‬
ِ َ;ِaْ ِ ْ‫َا َرت‬:َ‫ ﺕ‬IHَ1
until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of Night):


 َ*َ$ َ‫وه‬7‫ُرد‬
33. "Bring them back to me."

٣٣ ‫ق‬
ِ َ,ْ$َKْ ‫ق وَا‬
ِ :7[ ِ ًaْ[َ' M
َ َِNَ
Then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks.

‫ًا‬Aَ[َ9 Sِ 0ِ=ُْ‫ آ‬Iَ*َ$ َ,ْ0َْ ‫ن َوَأ‬

َ َLْ0َ*ُ= ,َHَ ْAََ ‫َو‬
34. And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life):

٣٤ ‫ب‬
َ َ‫ُ ( َأﻥ‬c
but he did turn (to Us in true devotion):

‫ِي‬AْEَ ْ' Aٍ َ1َKِ ِqَ+,َ  ً-ْ*ُ' ِ ْyَ‫ِْْ ِ َوه‬z‫ب ا‬

 ‫&َ َل َر‬
35. He said,
"O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a Kingdom, which, (it may be), suits not another after
me:

٣٥ ‫ب‬
ُ ‫ه‬:َ ْ ‫^ ا‬
َ ‫ أَﻥ‬U
َ ‫ِإﻥ‬
for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure)."

َ  ‫ ا‬Sُ َ َ‫ْﻥ‬hَ[َ
36. Then We subjected the Wind to his power,

٣٦ ‫ب‬
َ َJ‫| َأ‬
ُ ْ0َ1 ‫َ ء‬Q‫ ُر‬kِ ِ ْ'َKِ ‫ﺕَ;ِْي‬
to flow gently to his order, whithersoever he willed --

٣٧ ‫ص‬
ٍ ‫ا‬:َz‫ ء َو‬,َ  ُ‫ آ‬
َ 0ِx َ0F ‫وَا‬
37. As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver --

٣٨ ‫َْ ِد‬JَKْ ‫ ِ ا‬

َ 0ِ‫ 'َُ ﻥ‬
َ َِQَ‫و‬
38. As also others bound together in fetters.

َ‫َ ُؤﻥ‬Nَ$ ‫هََا‬

39. "Such are Our Bounties:

٣٩ ‫ب‬
ٍ َ[ِ1 ِ ْ0َqِ ْUِ[ْ'‫ُْ َأوْ َأ‬,ْ' َ
whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked."

ٍ Dَ' 
َ ْ[ُ1‫ َو‬Iَْ #ُ َ َ‫ﻥ‬Aَ ,ِ$ Sُ َ ‫ن‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
40. And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (final) Return.

‫ب‬
َ :7‫ﻥَ َأ‬Aَ ْ+َ$ ُْ‫وَاذْآ‬
41. Commemorate Our servant Job,

٤١ ‫ب‬
ٍ ‫ََا‬$‫ َو‬y
ٍ ْjُ,ِ ‫ن‬
ُ َNْ0F ‫ ا‬
َ ِ,[َ' ‫ َأﻥ‬Sُ َ‫ِإذْ ﻥَ دَى ر‬
behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering"!

U
َ ِ*ْ9ِ ِ ْoُ‫ارْآ‬
42. (The command was given:)
"Strike with thy foot:

ِ ٤٢ ٌ‫َ[ٌَ َ ِردٌ َو!ََاب‬Hْqُ' ‫هََا‬

here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink."

,' Cً َLْ1‫َ)ُ(ْ َر‬E' (ُ)َ*ْuِ'‫ َو‬Sُ َ*ْ‫ َأه‬Sُ َ َ,ْ+َ‫َو َوه‬

43. And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number -- as a Grace from Ourselves,

٤٣ ‫ب‬
ِ َ+ْ َKْ ‫ُوْ ِ ا‬Kِ ‫َو ِذآَْى‬
and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding.

ًuْqِ‫ك ﺽ‬
َ Aِ َ0ِ ُْQ‫َو‬
44. "And take in thy hand a little grass,

ْ|َ,ْaَ‫ َو َ ﺕ‬Sِ  ‫َ ﺽِْب‬

and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)."

Aُ ْ+َEْ ‫ْ َ( ا‬Eِ‫َ ًِا ﻥ‬J kُ َ‫ْﻥ‬Aَ9‫ِإﻥ َو‬

Truly We found him full of patience and constancy: how excellent in Our service!

٤٤ ٌ‫ َأواب‬Sُ ‫ِإﻥ‬

Ever did he turn (to Us)!

‫ب‬
َ :ُْEَ‫ َو‬M
َ َaْ=‫ َ( َوِإ‬0ِ‫َ َدﻥَ إَْاه‬+ِ$ ُْ‫وَاذْآ‬
45. And commemorate Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

٤٥ ‫َ ِر‬jَْKْ ‫ِي وَا‬AَْKْ ‫ُأوْ ِ ا‬

possessors of Power and Vision.

٤٦ ‫ا ِر‬A ‫ ِذآَْى ا‬Cٍ َjِ َhِ (ُ‫َ ه‬,ْjَ*ْQ‫ِإﻥ َأ‬
46. Verily We did chose them for a special (purpose) --
proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter.

 ٤٧ ‫َ ِر‬0ْQَKْ ‫ ا‬
َ ْ0ََNْjُLْ ‫ ا‬
َ ِLَ َ‫ﻥ‬Aَ ,ِ$ ْ(ُ)‫َوِإﻥ‬
47. They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good.

ِ ِْ-ْ ‫ َوذَا ا‬sَ َ[َ0ْ ‫ َ وَا‬0ِ$ َLْ=‫وَاذْآُْ ِإ‬

48. And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Dhu al Kifl:

٤٨ ‫َ ِر‬0ْQَKْ ‫ 'ْ ا‬e ُ‫َوآ‬

each of them was of the company of the Good.

ٌْ‫هََا ِذآ‬
49. This is a Message (of admonition):

٤٩ ‫ب‬
ٍ Dَ' 
َ ْ[ُaَ 
َ 0ِHُLْ*ِ ‫ن‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
and verily, for the Righteous, is a beautiful place of (final) Return. --

٥٠ ‫ب‬
ُ ‫َا‬:َْKْ ‫ )ُ ُ( ا‬Cً َaHَ7' ‫ن‬
ٍ ْAَ$ ‫ت‬
ِ ,َ9
50. Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them;

٥١ ‫ب‬
ٍ ‫ َ ٍة َو!ََا‬0ِuَ‫ آ‬Cٍ َ)ِ‫)َ َِ آ‬0ِ ‫ن‬
َ :ُ$ْAَ َ)0ِ 
َ 0ِdِ-Hُ'
51. Therein will they recline (at ease);
therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink;

٥٢ ٌ‫ف َأﺕَْاب‬

ِ ْN ‫ت ا‬
ُ ‫َِا‬J َ& ْ(ُ‫ه‬Aَ ,ِ$‫َو‬
52. And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age.

٥٣ ‫ب‬
ِ َ[ِaْ ‫ْ ِم ا‬:َ0ِ ‫ن‬
َ ‫ُو‬Aَ$:ُ‫هََا 'َ ﺕ‬
53. Such is the promise made to you for the Day of Account!

٥٤ ‫ 'ِ ﻥَ ٍد‬Sُ َ َ' َ,ُ&ْ‫ن هََا َ ِز‬

 ‫ِإ‬
54. Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you);
it will never fail --

‫هََا‬
55. Yea, such!

٥٥ ‫ب‬
ٍ Dَ'  َFَ 
َ 0ِz N*ِ ‫ن‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
But -- for the wrongdoers will be an evil place of (final) Return!

56. Hell! --

َ)َ‫ْﻥ‬:َ*ْjَ
they will burn therein --

َ ْdِ+َ
an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)! --

‫هََا‬
57. Yea, such! --

٥٧ ٌ‫َ[ ق‬z‫(ٌ َو‬0ِLَ1 kُ :ُ&‫َُو‬0ْ*َ

then shall they taste it -- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold! --

٥٨ ٌ‫ َأزْوَاج‬Sِ ِ*ْ-َ! ِ' ُ َQَ‫و‬

58. And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them!

ْ(ُ-َE' ٌ(ِaَHْ7' ٌ‫ْج‬:َ ‫هََا‬

59. Here is a troop rushing headlong with you!

ْ(ِ)ِ ً+َ1َْ' َ
No welcome for them!

٥٩ ‫ ِر‬, ‫ا ا‬:ُ َJ ْ(ُ)‫ِإﻥ‬

Truly, they shall burn in the Fire!

ْ(ُ-ِ ً+َ1َْ' َ ْ(ُH‫ا َْ أَﻥ‬:ُ َ&

60. (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:)
"Nay, ye (too)!
No welcome for you!

َ,َ kُ :ُLُHْ'A َ& ْ(ُH‫أَﻥ‬

It is ye who have brought this upon us!

٦٠ ‫ ا ََْا ُر‬

َ ْdِ+َ
Now evil is (this) place to stay in!"

ِ٦١ ‫ ر‬, ‫ًْ ِ ا‬Eِ‫ََاً ﺽ‬$ kُ ْ‫د‬#ِ َ ‫َ هََا‬,َ ‫ َم‬A َ& َ' َ,‫ا َر‬:ُ َ&
61. They will say:
"Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double Penalty in the fire!"

٦٢ ‫َ!َْا ِر‬Kْ ‫ ا‬

َ ' (ُ‫ه‬A7 ُEَ‫ ﻥ‬,ُ‫َ ً آ‬9‫َ َ ﻥََى ِر‬,َ َ' ‫ا‬:ُ َ&‫َو‬
62. And they will say:
"What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad
ones?

٦٣ ‫َ ُر‬jَْKْ ‫ْ)ُ ُ( ا‬,َ$ ْ^َz‫ْ ِƒ َأمْ زَا‬hِ= ْ(ُ‫َْﻥَ ه‬h‫َأﺕ‬
63. "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"

 ٦٤ ‫ ِر‬, ‫ُ ُ( َأهْ ِ ا‬J َhَ‫ ﺕ‬M
e َaَ U
َ ِ ‫ن َذ‬
 ‫ِإ‬
64. Truly that is just and fitting, the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire!

ٌ‫ ِر‬,ُ' َ‫َ َأﻥ‬L‫&ُْ ِإﻥ‬

65. Say:
"Truly am I a Warner:

٦٥ ‫ ا َْ) ُر‬Aُ ِ1‫َا‬:ْ ‫ ا‬Sُ * ‫ ِإ  ا‬Sٍ َ ‫َو'َ 'ِْ ِإ‬

no god is there but the One Allah,
Supreme and Irresistible --

َLُ)َ,ْ0َ َ'‫ض َو‬

ِ ْ‫َر‬Kْ ‫ت وَا‬
ِ ‫َ وَا‬L[ ‫ب ا‬
7 ‫َر‬
66. "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between --

٦٦ ‫َ ُر‬qْ ‫ ا‬#ُ ِ#َEْ ‫ا‬

Exalted in Might, Able to enforce His will, forgiving again and again."

٦٧ ٌ(0ِgَ$ ٌKَ+َ‫ ﻥ‬:َ ُ‫&ُْ ه‬

67. Say:
"That is a Message supreme (above all) --

٦٨ ‫ن‬
َ :ُ‫ْ ِﺽ‬Eُ' Sُ ْ,َ$ ْ(ُH‫أَﻥ‬
68. "From which ye do turn away!

٦٩ ‫ن‬
َ :ُLِjَHْhَ ْ‫ ِإذ‬Iَ*ْ$َKْ ‫ ا‬iِ َ*َLْ ِ (ٍ ْ*ِ$ ِْ' ِ ‫ن‬
َ َ‫'َ آ‬
69. "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.

٧٠ ٌ0ِ+7' ٌَِ‫َ َأﻥَ ﻥ‬L‫ ِإ  َأﻥ‬

 َ ‫ ِإ‬Iَ1:ُ ‫إِن‬
70. "Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly."

٧١ 
ٍ 0ِx ِ' ‫ًَا‬Fَ ٌMِ َQ ‫ ِإﻥ‬Cِ َ-ِW َ*َLْ*ِ U
َ 7‫ِإذْ &َ َل َر‬
71. Behold, thy Lord said to the angels:
"I am about to create man from clay:

٧٢ 
َ ِAِ9 َ= Sُ َ ‫ا‬:ُEََ ِ1‫و‬7‫ 'ِ ر‬Sِ 0ِ ^
ُ ْhََ‫ وَﻥ‬Sُ ُHْ: َ= ‫ذَا‬iِ َ
72. "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye
down in obeisance unto him."

٧٣ ‫ن‬
َ :ُEَLْ9‫)ُ(ْ َأ‬7*ُ‫ آ‬Cُ َ-ِW َ*َLْ ‫ ا‬Aَ َ;َ[َ
73. So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together;

َ 0ِ*ْ‫ِإ  ِإ‬
74. Not so Iblis:

٧٤ 
َ ِِ َ-ْ ‫ن 'ِْ ا‬
َ َ‫َ َ َوآ‬+ْ-َHْ=‫ا‬
he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith.

‫ي‬
 Aَ َ0ِ ^
ُ َْ*َQ َLِ Aَ ُ;ْ[َ‫ أَن ﺕ‬U
َ َEَ,َ' َ' 
ُ 0ِ*ْ‫&َ َل َ ِإ‬
75. (Allah) said:
"O Iblis!
what prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with My hands?

٧٥ 
َ 0ِ َEْ ‫ ا‬
َ ِ' ^
َ ,ُ‫ت َأمْ آ‬
َ َْ+ْ-َHْ=‫َأ‬
Art thou haughty?
Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?"

Sُ ْ,' ٌْ0َQ َ‫&َ َل َأﻥ‬

76. (Iblis) said:
"I am better than he:

٧٦ 
ٍ 0ِx ِ' Sُ َHَْ*َQ‫ِ 'ِ ﻥ ٍر َو‬,َHَْ*َQ
Thou createdst me from fire, and him Thou createdst from clay."

٧٧ ٌ(0ِ9‫ َر‬U

َ ‫ﻥ‬iِ َ َ)ْ,ِ' ْ‫ْ ُج‬Q َ ‫&َ َل‬
77. (Allah) said:
"Then get thee out from here:
for thou art rejected, accursed.

٧٨ 
ِ A ‫ْ ِم ا‬:َ Iَ ‫ِ ِإ‬Hَ,ْEَ U
َ ْ0َ*َ$ ‫ن‬
 ‫َوِإ‬
78. "And My Curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgement."

٧٩ ‫ن‬
َ :ُuَEْ+ُ ‫ْ ِم‬:َ Iَ ‫ِْﻥِ ِإ‬g‫َﻥ‬Kَ ‫ب‬
 ‫&َ َل َر‬
79. (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."

٨٠ 
َ َِg,ُLْ ‫ ا‬
َ ِ' U
َ ‫ﻥ‬iِ َ ‫&َ َل‬
80. (Allah) said:
"Respite then is granted thee --

٨١ ‫ ِم‬:ُ*ْEَLْ ‫^ ا‬
ِ ْ&:َ ْ ‫ْ ِم ا‬:َ Iَ ‫ِإ‬
81. "Till the day of the Time Appointed."

٨٢ 
َ 0ِEَLْ9‫)ُ(ْ َأ‬,َ:ِ ْzُKَ U
َ ِ‫ﺕ‬# ِEِ+َ ‫&َ َل‬
82. (Iblis) said:
"Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong --

َ 0ِjَ*ْhُLْ ‫ْ)ُ ُ( ا‬,ِ' ‫ك‬
َ ‫َ َد‬+ِ$  ‫ِإ‬
83. "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy grace)."

٨٤ ‫ ُل‬:ُ&‫ َأ‬M

 َaْ ‫ وَا‬M
7 َaْ َ ‫&َ َل‬
84. (Allah) said:
"Then it is just and fitting -- and I say what is just and fitting --

٨٥ 
َ 0ِEَLْ9‫ْ)ُ(ْ َأ‬,ِ' U
َ َEِ+َ‫ ﺕ‬Lِ'‫ َو‬U
َ ,ِ' (َ ,َ)َ9 ‫ن‬
 َKَ*ْ'َKَ
85. "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee -- every one."

ٍ ْ9‫ 'ِْ َأ‬Sِ ْ0َ*َ$ ْ(ُ-ُ َKْ=‫&ُْ 'َ َأ‬

86. Say:
"No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'án),

٨٦ 
َ 0ِ*َ-َHُLْ ‫ ا‬
َ ِ' َ‫َو'َ َأﻥ‬
nor am I a pretender.

٨٧ 
َ 0ِLَ َEْ* ٌْ‫ ِإ  ِذآ‬:َ ُ‫ِإنْ ه‬
87. "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds.

٨٨ 
ٍ 0ِ1 Aَ ْEَ kُ َKَ+َ‫ ﻥ‬
 ُLَ*ْEَHَ ‫َو‬
88. "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while."
