Super Folk

A Superhero Mod for the Folklore RPG


Attributes
As normal, divide 15 pts between Body, Mind, and Social, no attribute
being higher than 6.
Powers
Divide pts between as many superpowers as you li!e, no "ower being
higher than #. $hings li!e %&orld's (reatest Detective) can be a
%"ower), etc.
Traits
Same as normal* +ne trait at #, $wo traits at ,, other traits at 1. $raits
are normally reserved -or more %mundane) .but still /uite use-ul01
details about the hero, li!e perhaps related to their civilian occupation,
etc.
Calling
&hat drives the hero. $he (M will decide when the 2alling delivers a
31D bonus. 4gnoring the 2alling will cost you, probably some 5ero
"oints, possibly more.
Mission
Much li!e the %6uest) in the regular game. A speci7c, long8term
mission that the hero is currently on, unrelated to the current
adventure .until the (M ma!es it a part o- the adventure, natch1.
4gnoring the Mission may also cost ya.
Relationships
Same as the regular game.
Wealth
Same as the regular game, although &ealth could be increased as a
%"ower.)
Weaknesses
9p to : points in &ea!nesses.
A wea!ness can*
11 ;ower a hero's e<ectiveness at using a stat in some way, li!e
being 8, Body -or anything involving agility .strong but
slow=clumsy1, or being 8, Social around Spiders, etc.
,1 ;ower a hero's stats across the board by 8, in certain situations.
A wea!ness to 2raptonite that lowers all Attributes, "owers, and
$raits by 8,, -or e>ample.
#1 4nvolve a persistent enemy or dar! secret o- minor .11 or ma?or
.,1 inconvenience.
@>ample 1 counts as 1 &ea!ness point, and gives 1 Bonus "oint per 8,
penatly. Aou may only ta!e one o- these !inds o- &ea!nesses unless
the (M allows more.
@>ample , counts as , &ea!ness points, and gives , Bonus "oints
@>ample # counts as 1 &ea!ness point -or minor, and , &ea!ness
"oints -or Ma?or, and gives 1 or , Bonus points accordingly.
Aou may buy e>tra traits with the Bonus points, -or one point per $rait
level, with each new Bonus $rait being no higher than a ,. .Aou would
o- course not buy a $rait o- 1, because those are -ree1

Aou may also give your 5ero a -ree Starting 5ero "oint -or each Bonus
point that is not spent on a Bonus $rait.
Hero Points
5ero "oints can add successes to die rolls, save your hero -rom de-eat,
and directly a<ect the story itsel-.
@ach 5ero starts the game with 1 5ero "oint, plus 1 -or each level
they've gained beyond the 1

, plus any bonus starting hero points they
earned in character creation.
5ero "oints may be added to a dice pool as Successes, but only to
replace dice that have %missed.)
, 5ero "oints can be spent to add an e>tra die to the dice pool be-ore
rolling.
1 5ero "oint may be spent to remove a %condition) -rom a hero. $he
price goes up 1 more point each time, though.
5ero "oints can be spent to raise an Attribute that was ?ust reduced to
Cero, avoiding a !noc!out. @ach 5ero "oint spent this way raises that
Attribute by 1 point, but also reduces the other two attributes by that
many points.
@arning 5ero "oints in game can happen when the (M says so. Also,
whenever you roll misses, save those dice until the end o- your turn.
&hen your turn is over, re8roll them. Any 6's become 5ero "oints -or
that session.
