So how was it to be a Concept Woman of Kurt Cobain?
Raymond asked Marilyn as the two are trailing behind the surviving group of thirty-three
Humans. The group is treading softly through the morning streets of Jerusalem. Theyre trying to
stay out of sight of the Infected Humans, so theyre using large debris to hide in plain sight.
Brother Joe and Atiya lead the group at the front of the line. Marilyn turns to Raymond and
replies,
Kurt was very somber and calm as if he knew Death was always behind him. In my honest
opinion, I wanted him to meet the abyss thats called Death.
Raymond shakes his head in disbelief as he stares at Marilyn with his jaw dropped. Raymond
says,
What?! How you gonna say that? He was a Human!
Marilyn says, That is correct, Raymond. He was a tormented soul. I do not know if I am using
this correct but I was ecstatic when I was ordered to wield his suicide.
Raymond says, Wh-What?
Marilyn says, Do you know how heroin feels? I am kind of curious to try, Raymond. Would
you like to partake with me some time?
Raymond says, NO! Hell NO!
Raymond briskly walks away from her as he looks back at Marilyn wearing an expression of
disbelief. He utters,
You scare me sometimes. You really do."
Twenty Minutes Later
Raymond rambles to Brother Joe as Brother Joe is silently scanning ahead for Infected Humans,
And then she told me I was in. I was like, Thats wassup! And thats how I first lost my
virginity
Raymond pauses with his story as hes smiling victoriously. He breaks out of his daydream only
to look at Brother Joe who is focused on protecting the people hes leading. Raymond says,
Yo, Joe, ya listenin?
Brother Joe utters, Huh?
Raymond says, Yo! You wasnt listenin
Brother Joe is calmly walking ahead of the group with Raymond as the group trail behind six
feet. Brother Joe says,
Why are you up here, Raymond?
Raymond says, Its Marilyn, she start talkin bout doin drugs and shit. Thats not what I
wanna hear right now. Shes missin a few bolts, yo.
Brother Joe displays a smirk while saying, Do not be so hard on her. When us, Divine Workers
become Humans from being Divine Beings, we were curious and looking to act on our urges.
Shes just processing what it is to be a Human and the things she has encountered as a Concept
Man.
Raymond says, Was you like that?
Brother Joe says, When I became Human
Raymond smiles as he interrupts Brother Joe by saying, You said youre a Human. Finally, you
came clean, bruh.
Brother Joe shoots Raymond with a sharp, heated glare as hes saying, Raymond, youre testing
my patience, go back to your post. Now.
Raymond walks away while saying, Okay. Okay. You aint gotta get all in ya feelings and shit
when I call you Human when you jus said that shit. Shit.
As Raymond is bypassing Atiya as shes leading the group behind Brother Joe, Atiya says,
Hey Raymond, have a minute?
Eighteen Minutes Later
As Raymond and Atiya walk side by side in the morning shine, Atiya says,
And I just want to say sorry. I had no right to judge you or even treat you like trash. You
have been nothing but positive toward me and you always save my ass at a drop of a dime. Ha,
you are always the first one to go in fighting to save anyone. All you have been to me is a hero
and since we started off rocky all I ask of you now is to be my friend. Will you?
Atiya opens her arms for a hug. Raymond smiles then embrace the hug with open arms. The two
gaze into each others eyes while holding one another. Atiya gently kisses Raymond on his right
cheek while Raymond begins to blush. Atiya says,
Thank you.
Raymond says, Youre wel
Brother Joe sternly says, Raymond, get back to your post!
Raymond smiles at Atiya while saying, Gonna go.
As the two are walking into the opposite direction, their fingertips locks then graze one another.
Three Minutes Later
Marilyn welcomes a frowning Raymond back wearing a radiant smile as she says,
Hey Raymond, youre back! How was it up front? Did you find any heroin?
Raymond cuts his eyes at Marilyn as he mumbles, No.
Marilyn excitedly says, Did I ever tell you when I was Joan of Arcs Concept Woman?
Raymond sadly says, No but ya gonna tell me anyway.
Marilyn says, She was always a strong headed female. She used to assault little boys when she
was a child.
Raymond and Marilyn trail behind the group as their rear end watch as the caravan slowly treks
into the unknown darkness of Jerusalem.
Thirty-Six Minutes Later
Brother Joe and his followers are knelt next to a fence thats protecting a huge warehouse.
Brother Joe says,
The plane is in there.
An old woman says, How do you know?
Brother Joe says, I just do. We need to get in there but they are heavily armed.
Man says, What?! How the hell are we gonna get in?!
Brother Joe smiles while saying, If my plan is correct, Raymond will arrive in five minutes with
some unlikely allies.
Marilyn says, Who? Or will that be a spoiler?
Brother Joe puts his index finger up to his lips as hes saying, Shhhhhh! Just wait and see.
Marilyn says, So no spoiler alerts?"
