The utility model relates to the technical feld of mechanical
engineering for safety concerns in using the UTM during laboratory experiments specifcally the easy handling, transfer and storage of the UTMs 110kg bending rig. BACKGROUND OF THE UTILITY MODEL The Uniersal Testing Machine !UTM" is a machine or e#uipment that is named primarily for its capability to perform many standard tensile and compression tests on materials. $aid tests are necessary to alidate a material% materials inclusion to the durability, safe usage and e&ectieness of any kind of structure. 'ataan (eninsula $tate Uniersity !'($U" is fortunate enough to hae its o)n Uniersal Testing Machine !UTM" as part of the *ollege of +ngineering and ,rchitectures upgrading program for its +ngineering (rograms. $aid UTM )ill greatly help its +ngineering $tudents taking-up a Material $cience $ub.ect to fully grasp and better understand the nuisances inoled in the testing of a materials strength by seeing frst hand the results and outcomes under a set of loading conditions. /r thru a ariety of materials under a uniform loading condition. More so, haing a UTM can also help '($U generate additional income !0ncome 1enerating (ro.ect" should it proide testing serices to nearby communities and industries re#uiring such testing. +ngineering students especially under the Mechanical and *iil +ngineering felds are the common users of such machine )herein they could perform testing regarding the strength of structural steel, machine members or elements, concrete hollo) blocks !*2's", or concrete specimens of any type of foundation. 2o)eer, such students normally encounter a problem regarding the assembly and disassembly of the bending rig, a bulky heay UTM accessory located at the )orkbench or platform of the UTM. *ompression testing of a specimen is hampered by the tedious and heay lifting inoled in the disassembly of such bending rig. To oercome this problem, a utility model by the name of the UTM ,ccessory 1uide )as deeloped to help the students, instructors, or operators of such machine assemble and disassemble the rig easier all by himself. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The dra)ings attached, sho) the three ma.or parts of the utility model labeled accordingly )ith each corresponding part. 3igure 1 sho)s the perspectie ie) of the lifting apparatus of the utility model. 3igure 4 sho)s the perspectie ie) of the bedplate )ith bearing support. 3igure 5 sho)s the perspectie ie) of the table storage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE UTILITY MODEL 6eferring to the detailed dra)ings, sho)n is a utility model to be used as an ,ccessory 1uide $ystem for a Uniersal Testing Machine !UTM". This is composed mainly of t)o parts, the 703T081 ,((,6,TU$ 9 )ith a base frame 1 )ith legs )hich )ill support the bulk load of the lifting process, )here a hydraulic .ack 4 )hich proides for the lifting process is mounted. This hydraulic .ack 4 proides for the lifting process by introducing a mechanical adantage ia hydraulic means. , pair of lifting arms : )hich )ill hold the detachable bending accessory part of the UTM is connected at both ends of a lifting frame 5 ia a plurality of bolts and nuts ;. This detachable bending accessory part is held frmly in place during the lifting process ia the pair of lifting arms : at both ends )hich is held in check by t)o detachable helical extension springs <. The other ma.or part is the M/'07+ $T/6,1+ T,'7+ 11 )ith a pair of stands = )hose mobility is made possible by the rollers >. This table is able to store% accommodate the detachable bending accessory part of the UTM through a ramp 10 )here a detachable moable sliding holder 14 slides in and out. This sliding holders 14 mobility is made possible by the use of roller bearings 15 and that this is proided )ith a grooe, called sliding holder grooe 1:. This sliding holder grooe 1: )ill actually sere as the guide and transporter of the bulky and heay detachable bending accessory part of the UTM as it either goes 08 and /UT of the ramp 10 of the M/'07+ $T/6,1+ T,'7+. The sliding holder grooe 1: has a grooe% slot that matches the bottom part of 110 kg heay bending rig. 3igure 9 sho)s the lifting apparatus portion of the UTM ,ccessory 1uide. 3igure 11 sho)s the table storage portion of the UTM ,ccessory 1uide. 3igure 14 sho)s the sliding holder, a table storage portion of the UTM ,ccessory 1uide. OPERATION ON HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THE BENDING RIG: 1. ,ssemble the lifting apparatus 9 on the top of the UTMs 110 kg bending rig. a. (lace the base frame 1 on the middle part of the UTMs table bed. b. 3ix the hydraulic .ack 4 frmly in place on top of the base frame 1. c. (osition the lifting frame 5 on top of the hydraulic .ack 4 and attach them all together. d. 3asten the lifting arms : on the corners of the lifting frame 5 thru the plurality of bolts ; and secure the bending rig to the ends of the lifting arms : by securing the detachable helical extension springs <. 4. 6emoe the scre) that holds the topmost portion of the 110 kg bending rig )ith respect to the UTM. 5. ,ctuate the hydraulic .ack 4 to start the lifting process of the lifting apparatus 9 and the UTMs 110 kg bending rig. :. ?hen the UTMs 110 kg bending rig has been lifted )ith the proper height !around : inches" place the detachable moing sliding holder 14 beneath the 110 kg bending rig. ;. $lo)ly release the pressure in the hydraulic .ack 4 so that the 110 kg bending rig is held frmly on top of the detachable moing sliding holder 14. <. @etach the detachable helical extension springs <. 9. (ush the mobile storage table 11 at a position near the UTMs bedplate in such a )ay to properly receie the detachable moing sliding holder 14 )ith the 110 kg bending rig. =. 'efore starting the receiing process, the locks on the rollers > should be actuated to preent slipping during the receiing process. >. $lo)ly moe the heay assemblage of the detachable moing sliding holder 14 )ith the 110 kg bending rig manually onto the mobile storage table 11. 10. ?ith the receiing process fnished, and the locks on the rollers > being unlocked, fnd a suitable location )here the ,ccessory 1uide $ystem for the Uniersal Testing Machine could then no) be stored. 11. 7ock again the rollers > to preent slippage of the system. OPERATION ON HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE BENDING RIG: 1. Unlock the rollers >, then push the ,ccessory 1uide $ystem to a suitable location for the facilitation of the receiing process close to UTMs bedplate. 4. 7ock the rollers > to preent possible slippage of the moable heay assemblage ! detachable moing sliding holder 14 and the 110 kg bending rig". 5. Upon making sure that the receiing process is in the proper alignment, moe the detachable moing sliding holder 14 to the UTMs bedplate. :. ,ssemble the lifting apparatus 9 on top of the bending rig. ;. 3asten the lifting arms : on the corners of the lifting frame 5 thru the plurality of bolts ;. <. 2eld the 110 kg bending rig to the ends of the lifting arms : by fastening the detachable helical extension springs <. 9. ,ctuate the hydraulic .ack 4 to start the lifting process. =. ?ith around 4 inches of lift being made, remoe the solitary detachable moing sliding holder 14. >. $lo)ly release the pressure in the hydraulic .ack 4 on its proper position. 10. Mount the heay 110 kg bending rig in place by securing it )ith its corresponding bolts.
