Established in 1982 and accredited in 2007 by NBA, the
Electronics Engineering Department is progressing at a rapid
pace with the development in terms of infrastructure facilities,
upgraded syllabi and learned faculty. Besides offering B. Tech. in
Electronics & Communication Engineering, the Department also
offers M. Tech. with specialization in Communication Systems
and VLSI and M. Tech. by Research. The number of Ph. D.
registration in the Department is 32 by this year, in various
specializations.
Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat,
spread over an area of 250 acres is one of the 30 NITs, which are
declared by GOI as Institute of National Importance by an act of
parliament, called NIT act in 2007.
The Institute completed 50 years of its progress and in the year
2012.Institute offers 6 UG courses, 15 PG courses, 3 M.Sc. 5-year
integrated courses and Ph. D. in all disciplines. Total strength of
students is around 4000, including foreign students and DASA
students. Ph.D. registrations in various Departments have
crossed a figure of 300. Hostels of 600+ capacity for Girls and
1400+ capacity for boys exist in campus. New Gym with latest
imported equipments as per International standards at Institute
level in all over India.
