checked and rectify. Exhaust valve turning gear
to be serviced. Starting valve, safety valve and
indicator valve to be serviced. Rocker arm,
bush, thrust piece, ball end pin, push rod, tappet
guide and tappet roller to be checked and
serviced. The engine block top section, cylinder
head bottom seating and the exhausts pipe
connection to the cylinder head to be checked
for uneven surface and rectified. All waisted
studs on the engine block securing the cylinder
head to be removed and check. If required to
renew the waisted stud. The engine jacket
cooling passage in the cylinder head and engine
block to be descalced / cleaned.

c) Piston to be pulled out, checked and rings
renewed. All main bearing and journals taken
out for cleaning, inspection and survey. Piston
cooling nozzle and pipe connections to be
checked for proper oil supply and rectified from
leakage.
Piston rod, crank pin bearing and main bearing
calibrations to be taken and surveyed.

d) Both main engine liners wear down calibration


taken, if the figure obtained more than the
recommendation by maker, then liner to be
changed. Owner rep. to acknowledge and
confirm. All liners to be pulled out and ‘O’
rings renewed regardless of liner renewal. To
carry out liner honing. The liner o ring groove
on the cylinder block to be checked and
cleaned.

e) Crankcase relief valve, camshaft and timing


arrangement to be pulled out, inspect by owner
rep. and surveyor. The camshaft, cam toe,
tappet roller, tappet guide, push rod and ball
end pin to be serviced.

i) P/S Main Engine attached raw water, fresh water


and lube oil pumps to be dismantle, parts
cleaned and presented to owner for survey. Total
6 pumps. Pumps drive axle o-rings to be
renewed

alarm devices tested for satisfactory operation.

as per maker’s instruction manual / guideline.

All parts to be handled with care during lifting and


transporting.

M-2 MAIN ENGINE REDUCTION GEAR BOX (P/S)

a) Stbd side main reduction gear box top half


cover to be opened up for inspection and
survey of the internal parts. I.e. bearing, collar,
gear teeth, bearing housing etc for any damage,
wear, tear and burning mark. To be boxed
back if found satisfactory after completion of
survey. Quotation should include removal of
electrical connections, piping excess works
and coolers.

b) Port Side Gearbox to be completely


overhauled. .The out put and input gear shaft
assembly to be strip, bearings , clutch
assembly, the lube oil pump, driving gear
bush, piston ring, bush, seals, hoses to be
serviced and renewed. The out shaft bearing
outer shell to be fitted with stopper from
rotating in the bearing housing. The bearing
housing to be checked for wear and rectified.

c) Both Gearbox out put shaft seal and the Half


Coupling push rod bush and seal to renew.

Both the gearbox heat oil cooler to be serviced


and repaired. If required cooler to be renewed.

No. 1 and 2 generator engines to carry out complete


overhaul (top and bottom) of generator engine model
CAT D 3406. All parts dismantle for overhaul,
cleaning and survey. The crank shaft forward and aft
oil seal must be renewed. The sea water, fresh water,
lube oil, fuel oil injection, transfer pumps, injectors
and governor to be overhauled.
Turbocharger r to be overhauled. The hyd starter
motor for starting the engine to be serviced.
Necessary calibration to be taken. All spare parts will
be supplied by owners.

Bow Thruster Engine to carry out complete overhaul


(top and bottom): All parts dismantle for overhaul,
cleaning and survey. The crank shaft forward and aft

overhauled. The sea water, fresh water, lube oil, fuel
oil injection, transfer pumps, injectors and governor to
be overhauled.
Necessary calibration to be taken. The air starter
motor for starting the engine to be serviced.

M-4 BOW THRUSTER


TYPE 90 TV

a) To uncouple the drive input shaft and remove


the whole underwater unit to workshop.
Dismantle the bow thruster unit and clean all
parts for inspection and survey. Renew the lip
seal and one (1) set of repair kit. Reassemble
and pump grease into the hub. Reinstall and
test for leak and correct pitch. Leaking.

b) The thruster horizontal drive long shaft to be


dismantle and checked for straightness and
wear. If wear to be machine to original size..
Coupling and bearing to be renewed .Assemble
back with proper alignment and clearance.

c) To dismantle the bow thruster power take of


unit ( clutch box ), to inspect all the moving
parts after cleaning. All bearing and clutch
plates to be renewed as required and other
parts to be confirm by the attending owner
reps. The power takes off to be assembling
back.

d) The bow thruster power take off drive shaft


and the inboard gearbox shaft coupling to be
installed with proper alignment and clearance
as per maker requirement. Readings
documented.

e) To fabricate and install a protective machinery


guard on the bow thruster power take rotating
shaft/ coupling.
Note :
Functional test to be carried out upon
completion.

Complain: difficult to heave up anchor due to chain


slipping off from the gypsy.

M-6 STEERING AND RUDDER STOCK


.

Port and Stbd Rudder stock bearing clearance to be


taken and submitted to owner and surveyor Rudder
blade and the rudder stock to be dismantle and lowered
down. The rudder stock lower bearing in the rudder
trunk, bearing, gland packing, stuffing box, retainer
plate and bolt/nuts to be renewed. The upper rudder
stock part thrust bearing, and o-ring to be renewed. The
upper bearing housing to be greased and make water
tight.

The steering cylinders ram seals to be renewed.


Oil hyd cylinder (Tokyo Keiki Co Ltd)

Model : NW085-S

The steering oil tank to be cleaned and refilled with


fresh oil. The oil filters to be renewed, the system
purged and tested for satisfactory steering movement
before undocking.

To check and calibrate 4 nos. Rudder Angle indicator on


the bridge. Suspect forward port indicator motor
defective.

M-7 STERN TUBE AND Y BRACKET BEARINGS.

Both the propeller shaft Fwd and Aft bossing bearing


on the stern tube and Y bracket clearances to be taken
and submitted to attending surveyor. If the clearance is
excessive then.

1. To remove and renew the rubber bearing bush.


Thoroughly clean the bearing housing. New
reading to be recorded

The port/stbd gearbox to be overhauled. Bearings, seal


and o-ring to be renewed. The clutch assembly, clutch
in /out directional valve and oil pump to be serviced.

The gearbox input from the main engine drive and the
output to the fire pump drive to be installed with
proper alignment and clearance. Readings
documented.

Oil cooler to be serviced as the tubes are clogged up


50 %. The cooler sea water inlet / outlet pipe to be
installed with flange for easy tube cleaning.

a) 2 nos of Plummer block bearing on the port /


stbd of intermediate shaft, top halves to
uncouple and bearing clearance to be taken
using lead wire.

renewed. SKF 3136 T 5. Replenish new
grease.

Both Port and Stbd Fuel Oil Daily Tank (capacity

manhole cover after completion with new rubber
