Dec.

7-10, 2009
Dear Families,
We hope everyone had a good weekend. It’s hard to believe it’s already
December, so from now until Winter Break we will be learning about Holidays Around
the World. If your family has any traditions that you would like to share with the class,
please let us know because we’d love for you to come visit. Also, if you’d like to read a
holiday story to the class, make an ornament or craft, or do a cooking/baking activity
with a small group, we’d love for you to volunteer. Just let us know what you’d like to
share with the class. In the past we have had parents come read to the class and another
parent who came and made gingerbread houses with the children. The children really
enjoyed having a parent make an activity with them.
DON’T FORGET: NO PRESCHOOL THIS WEDNESDAY the 9th!!
We are sending home notes about the 2nd home visit. Please fill out and return by
next Tuesday. Thank you. We will use this next home visit to discuss your child’s
progress report and goals for the rest of the year.
Mrs. Mayer will be having her Winter Program Tuesday the 15th at 6:00 pm for
Preschool-2nd grade. Doors will open at 5:30 pm, and students will need to report to their
classroom by 5:45 pm. Preschool needs to wear a Holiday Outfit (red, green, festive)
Also, last year we had our second Holiday Brunch (technically a breakfast but we
combine both classes to come together and eat with family/friends, participate in
activities/crafts, and perform a few holiday songs for everyone). The breakfast will be on
the 17th at 8:30 am in the cafeteria. There will be no afternoon preschool that day because
we will all be together at the same time. Don’t forget to turn in your info about the
breakfast by the end of the week.

*Don’t forget to check out the classroom blog: http://preschool-families.blogspot.com

(If you have misplaced your info about the breakfast or the Holiday program, you can
find these letters on our blog.)
