A''ru() P)(n Stru'ture
In Oracle HRMS, accrual plans are based on elements, ormulas, and a net accrual calculation!
"ll o these are a#ailable or you to coni$ure so you ha#e complete control o#er the rules
underlyin$ your plans! Oracle HRMS does not store net accrual totals! It calculates $ross
accruals dynamically by callin$ the "ccrual ormula! %he net accrual calculation speciies the
element entries that should add to or subtract rom this i$ure to create the net entitlement!
I you use Oracle &ayroll, you can set up your accrual plan so that $ross accruals are stored in a
payroll balance! 'ach payroll run retrie#es the latest balance and calls the accrual ormula to
calculate ne( accruals since the end o the last payroll period! %his approach ) usin$ a payroll
balance ) is optional but pro#ides perormance enhancements i you need to calculate accruals in
a batch process

%he accrual ormula returns the ne( $ross accrual to an element that eeds the balance!
