Walt Disney Imagineering LOS ANGELES
Brainstormed, sketched, diagramed, iterated, modeled, rendered and proto-
typed design proposals for competitions and projects in all phases around the
world. My biggest input was in the design of the one billion dollar-budgeted
George Lucas museum in Chicago, for which our team of 6 reached the fnal.
Ultimately, Mr.lucas has chosen MADs design and not ours to be built by 2018.
Worked with Pixar Animation Studios to recreate environments and story ele-
ments in parks for an undisclosed pixar flm. While most of my work at Disney
will remain confdential until made public, I had the privilege of working with
people from very diverse backgrounds, ranging from advanced robotic engineer-
ing, to illustration, to music and special effects, all in a single working space.
Worked under Adrian Smith, head architect of the Burj khalifa, and with different
teams on three different projects; a masterplan in Dusseldorf, three hotel-
residence towers in Hainan Island, and a skyscraper competition in Kula Lumpur.
I contributed through research, sketching, iteratiing, modeling, rendering and
presenting to Adrian and to the team.
I was involved in the design of two regional projects and worked directly with the
partners from beginning to end. During this time, the offce was receiving signif-
cant media attention for the opening of the Horticultural Expo in Xian, previously
designed by the studio, and welcoming 16 million visitors. This experience gave
me signifcant exposure to both industry people and the chinese culture.

professional work
These works are the result of a collaborative effort between
me and the different design teams I have integrated. I have
played a role in every stage of design and perfomed almost
every task, from sketching, to modeling, to rendering and
3D printing.
At this time, I am unable to show most of the work I have
helped produced for the past year and a half at Disney
and UNStudio due to confdentiality agreements with both
offces. However, I did compile a glimpse of images those
projects at the end of this section. When these projects are
publicly released, I will updated this portfolio.

The KLIFD tower is designed to be an iconic and endearing symbol of Kuala Lumpur. The Tower is formed by the physical and
environmental systems present on the site. As the fora of the rich Malaysian ecosystem did over time, the tower has evolved to
bloom in its context. Culturally it is a signifcant force that has impacted the form of the tower as well. Towards the north west, the
park and views to Petronas and Kuala Lumpur Towers have impacted the massing. An incision on the north west wall allows for
directed and protected views and outdoor spaces facing the park and the towers. Its a gesture of respect given the historical
importance of both towers and a decision to engage with the fowing landscape at its feet.

LUXE LAKES LOFT CITY CHENGDU
With unlimited budget, the client met with the partners and asked for a loft complex with residential, commercial and
hospitality programs. The site was located near a wealthy suburban area towards the south of Chengdu and was part
of a large masterplan. From the very beginning of the process and throughout these fnal renderings we dedicated
more than 2 months while also taking on another landscape projects in Beijing.

process
The Iteration phase for these lofts took
about two to three weeks. Both partners
disagreed in the method of aproach, one
pushing for the landscape to defne the
architecture (which is the concept of land-
scape urbanism) and the other in favor of
the architecture over the landscape.

long-term effect
Parks provide a chance to weave the cityscape of urban environments with ecologies and places with entirely different character.
A park is a melting pot of different territories, where citizens can experience the distance between their urban lives in a positive
way and that of a distant countryside. To design a park is to work with these relationships and experiences, playing with them
in order to generate a space where citizens can relate to their environment in new and provocative manners, making them more
aware of each other and their relationship with nature
We understood this development as an eco-
logical braided river that would eventially radi-
ate and consolidate the lifestyle, innovation,
culture and biodiversity of the city of Taichung
through the intertwining and interweaving of
landscape, infrastructure, architecture and
urbanism in a seamless design.

Inspired by the famous rock formation Fiver-Finger Mountain at the heart of Hainan, the resort towers form an iconic family of
varied and intriguing structures. Together, the towers are unifed as a single gesture, creating a dynamic and iconic land-
mark for the city. Each tower was optimized to accommodate its individual program and project parameters, while below its
ground level, a personalized parking was developped to be integrated into the overall experience of the user.

reference
the organic characteristic of our towers derived from
the local Five-fnger Mountain (which also inspired
the setting used in the movie Avatar). One of the rea-
sons we took inspiration from them was the fact that
on one side, the towers faced the mountains and on
the other, it faced the seashore.

NETHERLANDS RIVM LAB & HEADQUARTERS COMPETITION UTRECHT
The Cross design model proposed would bring together the offces and laboratories into a unifed and functional whole, with direct visual con-
nectivity. Atrium streets are introduced which converge in the middle of the cross, where a 6-storey, spacious central hall is located. This hall
is a public, indoor square, a communal core that binds together the four wings of the building visually, organisationally and in terms of circulation.
Within the atrium streets, communication is promoted through bridges which connect between the offce and the lab wings. The effciency of this
model lies in the shortened travel distance from the central point to the wing ends, which is refected also in an optimised maintenance solution.

brief
RIVM/CBG seek to establish the two organisations on the Uithof
in Utrecht, as a part of an open research, knowledge and aca-
demic network within the Utrecht Science Park (USP). The aim of
this integration is to allow for a synergy of universities, educational
institutions, research institutes and knowledge intensive com-
panies, as a critical success factor for a climate of knowledge
development and knowledge sharing.

were realized within the academic curriculum, and others
were part of personal research and exploration with new

As the only architecture student, I Joined the number one industrial design program for one studio to propose an alternative mode of transportation that would
essentially replace the car as we know it today. I asked myself, what if our bikes could turn into a chair and a desk?. This way, our vehicles would replace the
weight of the seats in buses, trains, airplanes, etc. and even in pubic spaces such as restaurants. The idea of my vehicle is to provide a space of its own that
is able to carry a chair in order to reduce the costs of pubic transit and investment in public space.
The form is derived from a traditional Islamic design symbolizing unity arising from diversity. A series
of fragmented pieces on the grounds of the old government establishment arise together to form the
symbol, representing the power of unity to overcome corruption and human despair.

TRAIN STATION STUDY CINCINNATI LIBRARY FACADE PERFORATION STUDY ICONIC BRIDGE STUDY
In this project, I explored facades and lighting in monumental buildings to bring together a young audi-
ence to the literary center. When something iconic is visible along a main avenue and in an urban set-
ting, but in a way that the program is kept from the pubic, people are dragged by curiosity.
dense urban spaces are highly dependent on the effciency of their public transportation systems. cities
like los angeles and tokyo, with very high vehicular traffc need innovative alternatives for their respective
growing populations in order to maintain a progressive and leading quality of life.
When crossing a main street or an interstate, two bodies in constant motion (cars and pedestrians)
meet at different speeds and direction. Whle bridges provide a safer interaction between the two, they
can also be sculpted and engineered in a a way that people get a greater sense of this interaction.

I am grateful for the challenging opportunities Ive been given in recent years; for
the pressure, the intensity, the versatility and most of all, the fun. Without being
part of a wonderful group of people both at work and in my personal life, none of
this would be possible. I look forward to my next challenge with great enthusiam
