• 2nd year undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) in

Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Thermal and Fluids Engineering
at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. CPI (Cumulative Percent Index) 8.16/10.
• AISSCE- All India Senior School Certificate Examination (CBSE) from St. Sophia Sr.
Sec. School, Hisar. Secured 100% marks in mathematics with an aggregate of
85%.
• AISSSE- All India Senior Secondary School Examination (CBSE) from Aditya Birla
Public School, Renusagar. Topped the school with 96% marks in mathematics and
science, and an aggregate of 87%.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN:

November 2008
• Completed a computer science project titled ‘C++ Coding for Brainvita Game’ under
the guidance of Prof. Abhiram Ranade, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering,
IIT Bombay.
The project involved writing of the program in C++ language through the application
of graphics, arrays, structures, pointers, constructors and inheritence along with
some use of strings, classes and objects.
I finalized the work with a detailed report on the methodology followed and a clear
documentation of the data.

November 2009
• Completed a project entitled “Properties ,Compositions and Applications of alloys
used for Aircraft Engines and Airframe Applications” under the guidance of Prof.
Gajanana V Prabhugaunkar, Dept. of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials
Science,IIT Bombay.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

June 2009
Undergone a vocational summer training in General Mechanical Maintenance
Department at Hindalco Industries Limited, Renusagar, India. Worked on the project
titled “Maintenance Practices on Pumps and Valves” under the guidance of Mr. A. K.
Singh and Mr. Gyanendra Singh. The main tasks of the Internship involved:

- To study the mechanism, functioning and use of centrifugal, reciprocating and rotary
pumps in industries.
- Applications of different types of valves including gate, butterfly, and globe valves
etc.
- Operation, construction and detailed mechanism of the different types of pumping
systems in industries along with their limitations.
- To understand how the generation of electricity takes place using coal in power
plants and various aspects related to power generation.
I carried out a detailed study of production techniques, industrial applications and ongoing
research in the field and suggested improvements/alteration in properties for applications of
pumps in engines and other heavy machinery equipments. It also included analysis of
production, cost and property parameters. This internship augmented in me the spirit of
teamwork, self-management, decision making and problem solving while accomplishing the
task objectives in a constrained time frame.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS:

 • Awarded the prestigious ‘Heritage Fund Scholarship 2009’, by IIT Bombay for
being among the top 5% students at the Institute.
• Was among the top 0.1% students of the more than 400,000 examinees who
appeared in IIT-JEE 2008. Secured All India Rank-863.
• Scored AA grade(10/10) in thermodynamics out of a batch of 107 students.
• Was awarded the ‘Certificate of Merit’ by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary
Education) for securing 100% marks in Mathematics and being among the top
0.1% scorer of the 800,000 examinees who appeared in AISSCE-2008.
• Qualified ‘KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) Scholarship’ Exam on the state
level in 2006.
• Qualified the state level of All India ‘National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)’
2005.
• Secured All India Rank-27 in ‘All India Erose Scholarship’ Exam during school
standards.
• Represented my school in ‘Sunbeam General Quiz’, Varanasi coordinated by Mr.
