No member of the last 29 member Council opposed the adoption of the 2013-2019 Meath County Development Plan. 4 of the 29 Councillors did not attend the Special Planning Meeting on 17th December 201222 Councillors voted in favour and 3 Councillors left the meeting before the Vote. The Minutes of the Meeting did not record the details of the 3 Councillors who left. The County Development plan was not enacted in accordance with the requirements of Schedule 10 Section 14 (2) e. of the 2001 Local Government Act namely the requirement that when a roll call is called at a vote that the vote of each member is recorded.
This requirement in law has not been met and it is open to any Councillor to seek to set aside the Development Plan on that basis that the requirement of Schedule 10 14 . 2 . e was not Schedule 10 14 . 2 . e was not satisfied. The People have a right to know how their Elected Representatives voted!
How can we have democracy if we don't know who voted for our Meath County Development Plan? This secret plan must be set aside and our Councillors must vote again in a transparent manner! http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/2001/en/act/pub/0037/sched10.html#sched10-l1-14
