can be called remote – they are integral parts of a nation's body – a human
being is inherently empathetic and therefore has to reach out to people who
need help".
From the editor's desk
Dear Readers,
It is with a deep sense of satisfaction and happiness that I share the events and projects undertaken by AIM for
Seva.
AIM for Seva was started in 2000 with the prime reason of making education accessible to every child in India.
AIM for Seva with a team of dedicated and devoted staff committed to the cause of education, through their
hardwork and sincere efforts have been able to take education to the doorstep of under privileged children in
India.
Student homes or Chatralayas have been built to provide basic needs- food, shelter, healthcare, to children in the
tribal, rural, urban areas of our country. Thus the 3000 students in our 78 fully operational student homes, in 14
states, are given a healthy, clean environment which is conducive to learning, a holistic education.
AIM for Seva has under its purview 18 educational institutions, with more than 18,000 students enrolled in
various programmes
Our 75th student home was inaugurated on the 9th of June 2009, at Palani, Tamil Nadu. To commemorate this
landmark occasion, a 'Postal Cover' was released by Mr. S. K. Chakrabarti, Chief Post Master General, Tamil
Nadu Circle, on June 25th 2009
We have been able to reach so far only because of the support of our sponsors and donors. The festive season is
fast approaching and may I make an earnest appeal to all our donors, sponsors and well wishers to help make the
occasion a happy one for our students.
Deepavali, one of the most auspicious festival of lights in the Hindu Calender will be celebrated with sweets and
new clothes. Your generous donations on this auspicious day will help us to educate our children.
Please contribute generously to bring a smile on the happy faces of our children.
I take this opportunity to wish you and your family good health and happiness on the happy occasion of
Deepavali.

All India Movement for Seva
It is the season for cheer, happiness, giving, sharing, celebrating and
enjoying a sense of togetherness with near and dear ones. The coming
months provide us with a series of occasions that usher in shopping sprees,
festive get-togethers and memorable outings that brighten up our lives.
If there's anything more joyful than this, it's sheer pleasure of brightening
up this festive season for many children who may not be privileged as we
are. AIM for Seva now brings you an opportunity to put a smile on many
young faces with a kind gesture – by making a contribution.
Deepavali offers you a great opportunity to help and reach out to the less
privileged children of our country. So you too can participate in the growth
of a strong nation. There is no greater blessing or joy than giving and sharing
with those in need, especially during the festive season.
