Subject: Re: Regarding Project Assignment for group 7

Let me give you a brief outline
Secondary research from published lines
Container services are main line ( direct ) of feeder through hubs like
Colombo/Singapore /ME port
Take some routes West Coast of India JNPT/Pipava/Mundra to EC USA ,
Europe and China , Other ports like Mangalore and Cochin to these
destinations
The Shipping lines operating from these ports , size of the
ships ,frequency of service consortium or stand alone , feeder lines
( normally this could be one line dedicated feeder or common carrier)

Data can be obtained from Daily Shipping List or Exim News your library
may have these you can list the service
If you google INDAMEX Service for example you will get a lot of details
of India USA service of one consortium

You can then google mako lines like Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM OOCL,
Hapag-Lloyd, NYK Line etc and find out about their services

You can repeat it for EC of India

Start on your work and then let me know

Feeder Carrier

1. Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Ltd.

Shreyas Shipping & Logistics Limited was incorporated as Private
Limited Company in the year 1988, primarily to own and operate
vessels for feedering of containers between Indian Ports and
Internationally renowned container transshipment ports. It is a
part of Transworld Group of Companies. It is the first Indian
Private sector container feeder operator and first Indian shipping
company to get ISO 9002 for container ship and feeder service
management.

Feeder Overview:

Containerization has emerged as an integral part of world trade
and commerce, as it is an economical and efficient medium to
facilitate the transportation of cargo between places.

Container Feeder Service covers carriage of containers of Main
Line Container Operators from Indian Ports to proximal well
equipped International Container Transshipment Terminals like
Dubai, Khorfakkan & Jebel Ali, Dubai and Colombo & Singapore.

Shreyas pioneered the concept of Coastal feedering by connecting
Kandla with JNPT and slowly connected all the ports on the West
coast of India and established the feeder operation between two
Indian Ports.

Main Lines operating Global Container Liner Services in today's
context rely exclusively on feeder container ships for connectivity
of their containers to and from their vessels to all ports. As only
few Indian terminals provides the facilities for operating main line
vessels hence all other ports need assistance of feeder vessels to
carry out the containerized trade.

The customers for Feeder Service are the Main Line Operators and
their basis of selection of a feeder operator hinges on factors such
as frequency of sailings, experience of feeder operator suitability
of their vessels, and their integrity and consistency of operations.
Shreyas being pioneers in Feeder Service in the Indian
Subcontinent enjoy excellent rapport with almost all Main Line
Operators in India. The pioneers in operating feeder services
between the Indian Sub-Continent & the Arabian Gulf.

The need for feeder services:

To bridge the gap and provide connectivity to all ports
Main line operators unable to service all ports due to size,
cost and volume constraints
Feeder works as a gateway to conventional ports as well
High land transport cost demands more feeder connectivity
between the ports in India

Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Ltd. operates regular and
reliable Common Carrier Feeder Services in the Indian
Subcontinent. We operate four vessels namely- OEL Shreyas,
